Her Life
March 3, 2016

The oldest of eight children, Dorothy was born to Hudson and Gertie Welch Brock on March 27, 1938. She was a loving mother, cherished grandmother, beloved and caring Big Sister "Sistah", loyal and fun loving cousin and a trusted and respected friend to all. She was a woman of wisdom, knowledge and grace having graduated from Lanier High School where she was a high stepping and spirited Drum Major. She was a skilled beautician attending Beauty College in Atlanta, GA while working the Scripto pen factory. Always the caregiver, she returned home to take care of her ailing grandmother until her death.

She was an adventurous romantic who married Wallace K. Harvey in 1960 and began a new phase to her life as an Air Force wife traveling across the United States and over seas living in Lakenheith England for a number of years. To this loving union, five adoring children were born and with the start of her family, she became a dedicated mother and housewife. She entered the working world again after her divorce in 1974 and enjoyed a 25 year career as a customer service representative for a major grocery store chain while making every conceivable sacrifice to raise and adequately care for her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hudson and Gertie Brock and sister, Juanita Davis.

She will always be cherished by the five loving children she leaves behind: Cheryl Harvey, Karen Harvey-Brea (Juan), Laurence Harvey, Susan Harvey and Michael Harvey; eight adoring grandchildren, Lauren Harvey, Brandon Goss, Alexis Harvey, McKenzie Harvey-Dickerson Nicolae Harvey, Bronsonoff Harvey, Junior Brea and Jean Carlos Brea; six loving siblings, Samuel "Bubba" Brock, Richard Brock, Robert Brock, Mary Kate (Tommie) Mosley, Carolyn Evans and Charlie Brock; and to her loving memory, she leaves a host of cousins, nieces and nephews who filled her life with joy.

Praising God that she sleeps now amongst the Angels.
