Her Life
October 12, 2017

Lula Pearl Fears Elder was born April 7, 1944 to the parentage of Joe “Bo” and Angie Lee Peterson Fears in Chambers County, Alabama. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord & Savior and was a devoted member of Greenwood Baptist Church until her health declined. She would often say “I asked God to forgive me of all my sins and for Him to be my Lord.” She finished strong because, SHE BELIEVED GOD WAS ABLE.

She received her education in the Chambers County School System, graduating from Rehobeth High School in 1962. Lula Pearl worked as a Weaver for West Point Pepperell for over twenty years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Katie Mae “Polly” Wright, Clarence Fears, O. C. Fears, Willie Joe Fears, Sr. and Mary Eunice Ray. Lula Pearl departed this earthly life for her eternal home on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at EAMC-Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley, Alabama.

Lula Pearl loved her husband, children, grandchildren and family. She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband of 15 years, Palmer J. Elder, Lanett, AL; her children, Altanua “Tammy” (Calvin) Darden, Valley, AL, Shorod Harris, Lanett, AL and Sonia Lovelace, Opelika, AL; five grandchildren, Jacalvis Darden, Akina Harris, Kyla Lovelace, Jeremiah Darden and Semone Harris – they were all her favorites; her siblings, Laura Lancaster, Springfield, MA and Robert (Patricia) Fears, Houston, TX; and, a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
