Mrs. Taylor was the seventh child of Cormilus and Ada Stephens, born Friday, October 19, 1923, in Daviston, Alabama. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of West Point, where she enjoyed participating in church activities especially Sunday School and Ladies Circle meetings, and did this as long as her health allowed her to be a part. Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and vegetable gardening with a special love for flower gardening. She was well known for her talent as a great cook. Mrs. Taylor always maintained a sweet and caring attitude for everyone that she came in contact with.

Survivors include her children, Neal Taylor of Lanett, Alabama, Joe Taylor of Newnan Georgia and Nita Taylor Burgess (Dennis) of Acworth, Georgia; granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Burgess of Atlanta, Georgia; her grandson B. J. Taylor of Newnan, Georgia; her great grandchild, Amy Grace Taylor of Newnan, Georgia; her brother, Billy Stephens of Daviston, Alabama; her sisters-in-law, Marguerite Taylor Coker of Mobile, Alabama and Fay Taylor Davis of Montgomery, Alabama; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband Charlie J. “Chuck” Taylor; her parents; her brothers, Wilbur and Thomas Stephens; her sisters, Lucille Simpson, Sally F. (Frank) Stephens and Pauline McGrady.
