ForeverMissed

It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the homegoing of  our dear Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Mother In-Law, Aunt  (Anti) and Friend - Mrs Simbiat Olufunke Anike Eso - Nee Bakare (Omo Abu Olowo, Abu Olododo) who slept in the Lord on Friday, November 9, 2012.  While our hearts are broken by this sad news, we will continue to celebrate her life and legacy!

"Iya Yaba", "Mommy Tom Tom", "Alhaja", "Anti", "Berra Mommy", "Iya Oko mi" and the list goes on, as she was fondly called by different people, was simply Mom to us!  Our mom who worked for many years at the NIgerian High Commission in London before returning home, was first a homemaker and then a Business Woman  and a devoted mother to Dele (Shido),  Omokayode (Kay), Abi (Biodun) and Toyin (Oluwatoyin Alake), their spouses,  many grandchildren,  nieces and nephews.

She touched the lives of many! She will be remembered for willingness to give to others selflessly of her time, presence and money, and her equisite fashion style! Our mom had a passion for life, beauty, elegance and fashion. In her later year, she became a Christian, having given her life to Christ. We are eternally thankful for this decision she made to have a relationship with God. Although, our mom is no more on this side,  We will never forget her legacy and  the sacrifices she made for us!

I remember Mama from my days of popping around the house at Ibikunle Street. She was always welcoming, charming, and caring. She will be greatly missed not just by her family, but also from those of us who were fortunate to have known her. A lovely caring person has now departed but leaves us with good memories, lovely children and grandchildren. May her soul rest in peace.

I never met "IYA YABA" when she was on this side of the divide howeveri met one of her fruits - BIODUN ESO-Adeleke. Since a fruit does not fall too far from the tree that begets it & we know a tree by its fruits, so I can say confidently that I KNOW MRS OLUFUNKE ESO alias Mama Yaba as a hardworking, serious minded, God fearing and a lover of education who has in deed impacted lives. RIP ma

Revelation 21:3-5 NCV

And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Now God’s presence is with people, and he will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them and will be their God.  He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, sadness, crying, or pain, because all the old ways are gone.”
