But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 1 Thessalonians 4:13‭-‬14 KJV Rest on beloved till we meet at the feet of Jesus.

60 HEARTY CHEERS TO A MATRIARCH Though you lay in silence We are loud on her virtues Though you lay in mortality You are immortalized in our hearts Though you died of cruelty You decided to smile in death With mortals you were angelic In horror you were humorous In death, you rose to live in us In war, you gave us peace In motherhood you nurtured all Your words soft and soothing Peace you had Peace you gave Ma Omotuyi A seed sown in tears An oil poured on troubled waters For a harvest of peace and progress At 60 You are sweeter In death as in life Your memorial is a menu Scintillating and captivating We shall keep your candle aglow In rain to reign In wind to wield your influence A light for MLS. Olufunke Omotuyi - May you rest on in peace in the embracing arms of your ancestors. It never makes sense that man should be so wicked to his fellow man...to take another's life for no apparent good reason. May God comfort your friend's and family as you live on forever in their hearts. I am saddened by this news story.

Funke, i must confess your untimely death from the hand of a supposedly human being blew me away. Its been a while i saw you last but i still had you tucked away in my heart till last Saturday when I read this dastardly act on line. What can one say to this?Mans inhumanity to man. Whoever did this will never have peace until he goes 6 feet under in a more horrible way than he did to a peace loving person like you amen. May your beautiful, peace loving soul rest in perfect peace. May light perpetual shine on your loving soul. God will console your family and loved ones and give them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Funke Omotuyi go well. May God avenge your painful death to the fourth generation of those who have hands in your untimely death.

Only the words in life we have spoken, only the seeds in seedtime have sown, these will pass onward when we are forgotten, fruits of the harvest and what we have done. Only remembered, we shall be remembered, thus we will pas from this earth and its toiling, only remembered by what we have done. Rev 22:11 He that is unrighteous, let him do unrighteousness still: and he that is filthy, let him be made filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him do righteousness still: and he that is holy, let him be made holy still. Rev 22:12 Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to render to each man according as his work is. Rev 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that wash their robes, that they may have the right [to come] to the tree of life, and my enter in by the gates into the city. Rev 22:15 Without are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loveth and maketh a lie. Rev 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright, the morning star

The wound created by your demise may take forever to heal. The vacuum that your sudden departure created is too deep and wide to be filled in a hurry. You are such an epitome of virtues. Your humility and adorable temperament will for ever remain fresh in my memory. I delightfully calls you Aunty while you simply call me Prof., in a way that is unique and perculiar to our relationship. Inducting our students at UNILAG was one of your first official assignment as the Ag. Registrar and our brief discussion on phone late last month, just before I travelled out of the Country was my last contact with your soft and always caring voice. How would I have imagine that these will be my last contacts with you? How on earth would I have thought that I will return to Nigeria never to see you again? My consolation is that your faith will stand for you and you will surely enjoy an eternal rest in a better cosmos. Let the author(s) of this evil leave forever in the valley of their evil. At least, let them leave long enough to harvest the fruits of their wickedness. Adieu Aunty!

Auntie Funke, the news of your death came as a rude shock. You were a loving and dutiful wife to Bro Wole. A gentle, amiable, industrious, virtuous, unassuming, faithful, peaceful and Godfearing woman. You left when you were needed most. But we are human. After all everyone will leave the stage someday, somehow. You are now with your creator. Rest in peace, one of the very best of Akususun's wives.

It saddened my heart on your painful exit. It is good to leave for God than to leave for men. It is obvious that u leaved a fulffiled life despite the fact that they felt caught your life short. Comments and commendations could attest to it, that you leaved a worthy life. I will miss you. Continue to rest in the bossom of our Lord Jesus Christ where we shall part no more. Adieu ! It is HARD to accept the death of a loved one; especially when you didn't have the chance to say goodbye; especially when the deceased was taken so suddenly and so shockingly at the prime of life and most especially when it seems like an irreplaceable part of your world is gone. The grief and the pain can be unbearable; you cry a river and your sorrow knows no end. You never really know what it's like until you are there yourself, but you look to God because he's the only one who can comfort you. Death and indeed a death so sudden and painful of mummy Omotuyi, makes me realize the brevity of life. We often take life for granted; too much so. Her death has made me sit down and reflect. It has made me take time to appreciate the loved ones in my life because I don't know what tomorrow will bring. It has made me put things in perspective. I want to live life and love it, I don't want to spend my life being unhappy or dissatisfied, I want to put a smile on my face because that's what can make a dark day seem bright and I want to play the game of life to the very end like that of mummy Omotuyi. So for those of you who can identify with me in grief, make it your aim to try and look past it and move on. Mummy Omotuyi is gone; we can not bring her back, but at least in memory of her, we can live a life that we know she would be proud of. Our loved ones may be dead and gone but we are privileged to still be living owe it to them to live fulfilling lives.

Dearly beloved Mummy Omotuyi, You were an epitome of beauty and love that radiated from within. You were so gentle, easy going and so humble. You related well with both great and small. You were so accommodative... Oh! I missed a woman of virtue! On one occasion, when I came to your office at Harvey rd, Yaba and it was hour of prayer (12noon), with smile you said: ''don't be annoyed o, will you join me to pray, because it's hr of prayer?'' With joy, I joined. Another time, when I came to Abuja for a conference, you invited me to lodge in your house. We eat together and slept together on the same bed. A woman of prayer! You will be greatly missed. But I know you are resting at the bossom of our Lord. I pray that the good Lord will grant your family the fortitude to bear this loss. Sleep on beloved, till we meet to part no more.
