Mrs. Spears was born Monday, April 17, 1922 in Shelby County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Mae lee and James Harvey Woods. She worked in the spinning department of West Point Pepperell. Mrs. Spears was a homemaker and a good cook. She attended Three Pines Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son Billy Ray Spears of Lanett; her granddaughter, Amy Lynn Spears of Lanett; her grandsons, Brian Michael Spears, Jason Ray Spears and Billy Ray Spears, Jr. all of Lanett; 8 great grandchildren; and her brother Henry Leonard Woods of Childersburg, Alabama.
