Dr. Anku and family, please know that my wife and I are so deeply shocked and saddened by the devastating news of the sudden passing of your dear wife, Sister Helen as we fondly call her. Our sincerest condolences to you and the Golloh family. We however thank God for her life and pray that the God we serve comfort you all at this difficult time of sorrow. Sister Helen was a sister, friend and mother to us here in the larger community of Columbus. She was a strong tower and pillar of our church, CICC and a formidable servant of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Always charismatic in her short walk to testify to the goodness of God in her life, our beloved sister is in heaven now. Take heart my dear brother Anku and family. May her soul rest in perfect peace, Amen. Dr. Chris & Minister Ebisan Igodan.

And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
Revelation 14:13 KJV

We are enjoined not grieve like unbelievers knowing fully well that death is a necessity for a greater life after life .
For our dear sister Helen's departure ,Albeit a loss for the body of Christ at Christ international church, but a gain to heavens where the Angels are rejoicing in welcoming home a pilgrim that came into the world and after all said and done, returned home.
Be consoled as body of Christ that her good works of cleansing the Church of Christ professionally without financial considerations and other good and laudable works are following her .
May the good Lord comfort the families and body of Christ she left behind in Jesus name Amen.

May our end be like the departure of the righteous in Jesus name Amen.

With love from us all,

Aunty Helen

You are greatly missed, and testimony time will not be the same without you. You were always such a joy and an avalanche of energy. One thing I learned about you early on is your unconditional love for God. You always gave thanks no matter the circumstances. So we grieve you sparingly knowing that you would have found a reason to thank God even in times like this. May you rest in peace till we meet again.
With Love

Hmhmmmmm!
I am really short of words.
But I can speak of the real love that exist between Sis. Helen Golloh and her sister. I personally cant differentiate them but couple of times I have experienced that.
1. When I personally dropped of the Men's Valentine gift: as I was about to step out after dropping Sis. Winnifred's gift and before I asked of sister's address. I heard from behind.. Please do you also have my Sister's own? She lives across from me and She is in the hospital.

I was amazed that even in that serious situation she still has her sister in mind.
I know how she will miss her sister. Like I said I dont know which one of them likes the Tambourine/comes for serious Saturday cleaning at the church but I admire their true love to be for each other.
Unto the Lord be the Glory! For He will continue to do great things.
God will continue to comfort the family and the Church CICC

Sister Helen you were indeed a blessing to me and my family and everyone of us at CICC, a very rare gem. I will miss that smile of yours and the way you teased me every Sunday. I will miss your inspiring testimonies and your words of encouragement to me. I am truly blessed to have known you.
I still find it hard to believe that you are truly gone but I take consolation in the fact you are only absent in the body but live forever with the Lord.
The fight is over the battle is won. Yes you have indeed won the battle. You have joined the host of angels to celebrate our Papa God 24/7 playing your tambourine. You will live forever in our hearts.
Sleep on beloved, sleep and take thy rest.
Lay down thy head upon thy Saviour's breast
We love thee well but Jesus loves the best
Good-night! Good-night! Good-night!

We are grateful for the privilege of coming into contact with an all-round remarkable woman like Auntie Helen. She is an inspiration to all who seek to practically live a life of service and devotion to God and fellow men.
We may not hear Auntie Helen’s voice in the church hallway, see her in action at a traditional wedding ceremony or enjoy her company on this side of life anymore, but we hold on to the hope of being reunited when the trumpet sounds for the reunion of the saints.
Rest peacefully Auntie Helen, you are dearly missed.
To the Golloh and Gogo families, it is our fervent prayer that The Holy Spirit will continue to comfort and strengthen you.

Aunty Helen, I thank God for His blessings of meeting you. Cannot say much, but you touched my life in so many ways by your encouraging words of telling me to continue my love for worship. We shall meet again and will forever worship our Father, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit. Until we meet again, continue worshiping Him.

Sister Helen, I am heart broken at your departure from this side of eternity, We prayed that the Lord will keep you here with us but our ways are not His ways. From the moment I met you so many years ago, there has never been a dull moment in any of my interactions with you. You had such a good sense of humor. Every time we saw each other, you never failed to joke or tease me and I learned to tease you back. Each time I left your presence I was either laughing or had a smile on my face. I am grateful to God for having known you.

Sister Helen, you were the “Queen of Testimonies”. You always testified to the goodness of God in your life and the life of your family. Your mannerisms and your testimonies always uplifted me. I bet that as you were approaching the golden gates, you were testifying as to how great God is.

The last time I saw you was about some months ago at the Health store with your husband, Dr. Anku. I did not know that would be the last time I would see you. Thanks for the memories, Sister Helen. Rest in the bosom of your Creator. Adieu!

Aunty Helen, Mama, Sister, Friend to all. Thank God for having given us an Angel all these years. Now, the Lover of your soul has bid you come. Who can stop you from going for your crowns in Heaven? You loved and served all who came in contact with you with that joyous exuberant smile, kindness, food, and warmth! We surely are missing you. We will miss you, Darling Sis Helen. Look at you, so beautifully sleeping in the Lord. That's the only comfort. Yes, whether we are alive or asleep, as long as we are in Him, it is well. [1Thessa 4]

Revelation 14:13

And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”.

Mama Hellen, may the Lord hide you in His bossom.

I remember the pure joy Sister Helen exerts when she meets you; a vibrant personality all afire for the Lord. She touched everyone she came in contact with in a very special way; you remembered her just from meeting her once. CICC will never be the same without her; testimony time will never be the same without her. There is an emptiness without her presence amongst us. We miss you dearly, Sister Helen. We love you, but God loved you more. May your beautiful soul and spirit rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord.

In Memory of Mrs. Helen Golloh

Words cannot fully express how we feel at this moment.

How do we come to terms with saying a final goodbye to you? It is quite difficult, but we are encouraged and comforted by the promise in Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” We will miss your spirit, kindness, grace, humor, and smile. Rest in God’s bosom.

To the Golloh Family,
We pray that you will remain comforted by your many memories of Sister Helen.

Her Life

A Life Well Lived

March 26, 2021
Mrs. Helen Korkor Golloh was born to the Late Bernard AshirifiGogo and Matilda Oboshie Laryea of La-Accra on October 20, 1954. She attended La Anglican Primary & Middle Schools in the years 1960-1970. After completion, she enrolled at the Accra Singer Sewing School to become a Seamstress and a Singer Sewing Machine Repair Technician. Helen later opened her own sewing shop and enrolled many apprentices over a several number of years.

Later in life, she decided to change professions to become a nurse. She enrolled at the Akim Oda Community Health Nursing Training School. She graduated and became a Community Health Nurse at the Adabraka Clinic in Accra-Ghana. In 1982, she was posted to Ada Hospital where she worked at the Mother & Child clinics around Ada. She loved her job and got an opportunity to educate teenage mothers on healthy nutrition and living. During the same period, she met her husband Dr. Anku Golloh and got married on November 14, 1984. After having their first child, she decided to become a full-time housewife and mother. As a full-time wife and mother, she engaged in various businesses like hairdressing, making tie & dye fabrics, ice-cream, and selling waakye (her specialty). She was a hardworking woman who knew how to make the most with the little resources she had.

In 1997, she relocated to the United States to join her husband, leaving her three children behind. Shortly upon her arrival, Helen gave birth to her last child, Emmanuel and soon trained to work at the Columbus Alzheimer’s Association. She later joined Riverside Methodist Hospital where she worked as a Nursing Assistant. In 1999, she got the opportunity to work with Franklin County Residential Services now known as Boundless Inc as a Residential Specialist. This soon came to an end as Helen and her husband had to move to Dubai for an expatriate work opportunity that had risen for her husband. Helen being hardworking, quickly adapted to her new environment and ran a family business seamlessly in Dubai. She later had all her children join her in Dubai and then returned to the USA with them. When she returned, she was received back to work with open arms at Boundless Inc as one of their best Residential Specialists where she remained from 2005 to December 2019 upon retirement.

Helen was a woman of character and had a big heart. She was humble, wise, compassionate, helpful, and passionate. As a supportive wife, she stood firm for her husband at all cost. As a mother, she sacrificed tremendously for her children. She wanted the best for them. Not only was Helen a mother and grandmother to her children and grandchild, but she was also openly pleasant to others who considered her as their mother and grandmother, too. As a friend, she made you feel you were the only special friend she had. Her sense of humor and personality drew people close to her. She was a loving person who gave her all to people, especially when they needed help of any sort.

The greatest thing was that Helen was a woman of faith. She loved and served God faithfully in all she did. This was evidenced in her service to the house of God and people. She shared the love of God in her actions and interactions. Helen was a rare gem because she had everyone’s interest at heart before hers. Her giving and selfless spirit was a gift to mankind. She was an overcomer because she always testified of the goodness of God in her life. Helen fought a good fight, finished the race, and indeed kept the faith (II Tim. 4:7).

We will miss you dearly, but we know you are in the good hands of your maker. Rest well,    Till We Meet Again.
