Who sat and wash my infant head when sleeping on my cradle bed and tears of sweet affection shed. My mother! My Big mommy like no other.

She’s a fighter, a mother, a strong and a courageous patriot, she’s so caring and not because she was a Nurse but she brightens her own corner of the world. She literally raised me to an enviable height in life, she’s a real mother.

She taught me how to be strong and not be mean, how to be bold and not be proud, how to be strict and have rules and still be human, she sharpened my entrepreneurial skills with many more skills she installed in me. A great singer, a lover of everything that concerns God and a lover of hymns.

I would have dropped out in not only school but life but She became my mother and mother to all my friends and siblings. Femi, Ademola and many more. Our house literally became an orphanage home and mini clinic that has birthed great men and women. People called me Wole Omo Nurse because she taught me well.

Words cannot explain how l’m feeling right now, you will be greatly missed my mommy… Rest on till we meet to part no more.

Wole Oluyede.

I am so short of words right now because its so hard for me to believe. Mummy is so kind and soft hearted. I remember when i was little and i use to sleep over at her place, at night we will all sit on the mat and she will start telling us stories and folktales. I cant stop crying now. May her gentle soul rest in peace and may the lord almighty comfort the family you left behind. Sooo painful

Mummy was an extraordinary woman who left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone she touched. As a nurse, she dedicated her life to caring for others, especially mother and children, with unwavering compassion and kindness. Her selflessness and devotion to her work earned her the admiration and love of her patients and their families.

One of Mrs. Obe's greatest strengths was her ability to connect with children. She had a special gift for making them feel seen, heard, and understood. Her warmth and caring nature put even the most anxious or fearful children at ease, allowing them to open up and trust her completely. Her love for children was palpable, and she always went above and beyond to ensure their well-being and happiness.

As a mother figure to many, mummy nurse was more than just a nurse - she was a confidante, a mentor, and a source of comfort. She had a unique ability to understand the needs of her family as well as patients and their families, and she always had a listening ear and a reassuring word when they needed it most. Her kindness and generosity were boundless, and she touched the lives of countless individuals throughout her career.

Mom legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched and the memories she created. Her selflessness, compassion, and love for others continue to inspire us all to be better people and to make a positive difference in the world. Wole and myself and others are testimonies to her legacy. Keep resting mom in the lord.

It’s hard to fathom you are gone, still feels like a dream. A plus to heaven and minus to planet earth.

You were not just an aunty, you were my mother, friend, confidant, playmate, gist partner, counselor, encourager. And you were good at all those roles. I will always remember your kindness, compassion, humor, you made everyone feel comfortable and good about themselves around you.

You were also a hardworker, never slacking in your duties and responsibilities. Not just a Nurse a nurse filled with empathy and compassion

Thanks for loving me effortlessly, thanks for nurturing me, thanks for teaching me kindness, humility and whole lot more, thanks for showing me the way of the lord.

I take comfort in the fact that you have gone to rest and that there is resurrection and eternal life with God. I LOVE YOU and am glad this is not the end, we’ll see in heaven. REST ON LEGEND.

Tribute to my dear Auntie .
I could remember when I was in primary school she came to Ayede Ogbese for a usual visit to checking on families from Owo Town where she practiced as a medical practitioner . She came around to visit my mum aka “aunt mi as she normally called her” fortunately for me and unfortunately for that moment I was holding a book which I was pretending to read and her attention was drawn to me and she asked me to read aloud to her surprise I couldn’t read nor write fluently as at then despite the fact that I was in primary 5 she felt so disappointed and on that spot she sought the consents of my parents to take me with her to Owo town where she lives and worked and the approval was the quickest decision I have ever seen or heard of up till date. Getting to know I couldn’t read and write the same routine was repeated for sister fisayo “aka small mummy and Niran Obe and to her surprise we were slightly different from one another, while sister fisayo was chairman equivalent of OLODO I was equivalent of Governor while Niran was presido of OLODO RABATA. She decided to relocate all of us to Owo town and in a null shall that was a turning point in our lives she got us all enrolled in then Government school Owo which in all honesty was one of the best primary schools in Owo if not in Ondo state at large. The standard of education and the city live we were exposed to in Owo town put us right ahead of our pears in the village. She will always pay more attention to me for a reason best known to her and she will take my side in 99.9% of time when stubborn NIiran OLODO PRESIDENT come near me with his troubles . I could remember I had terrible skin sensitivity which always led to terrible skin reactions when ever I came in contact with un hygienic environment or diry water and that was adequately dealt with due to her profession “ I remember her then jokingly saying I was lucky to be human that if I was an animal no one would be willing to eat from my meat, that was how terrible my skin reactions was and she relentlessly made sure she got the right treatment for me till I was free from the skin problems. It will take me for ever to mention her positive impact in my life. I will forever be grateful my auntie continues to rest in peace till we meet again and part no more.

Aunty Labake as she was fondly called was a big sister with a very big loving heart ❤️ we used to look up to in our growing years. Despite she was much older than us, she was so friendly and kind to us. Always full of laughter, kindness and jokes. I was always happy to see her come to our house being my father’s niece and my cousin.
She would make us all laugh as she throws banters with my father……
I was pained to hear about your death but glad you have gone to a better place where pains and sorrows no longer exists.
May the good Lord comfort us all and may your love continue to radiate on Oluwagbotemi and numerous sons and daughters you left behind.
Sleep well my sister.

"Iya Nurse" was by all standard a Mother. Always ready to give her best to saving lives. She ran her private house as though it was an orphanage home. If for nothing, she would forever remain in our hearts as one who gave us Shelter when we had none, one who gave us food when we were hungry.

Sleep well Mother, till we meet to part no more.

I share my thought with the family our big mummy left behind. May the good Lord grant us all the fortitude to bear her lose. It is my prayers that the family "IYA NURSE" left behind, would grow stronger and richer in love.

In loving memory of my guardian angel.

Today, as I reflect upon the beautiful life you lived, I am reminded of a remarkable moment that I will treasure with me forever . 38 years ago, when the world eagerly awaited my first cries, it was you who made the selfless choice to stay with my pregnant mother instead of attending your uncle's graduation.

I may not have cried in those first few minutes on Earth, but you cried tears of love and sacrifice all to ensure my safe arrival. Your unwavering commitment to both my mother and me at that crucial moment is a testament to the extraordinary person you were.

You embraced the role of protector and nurturer, showing the depth of your love and devotion to  the family.  Not just by being present on that fateful day but by being a constant source of support and Love thereafter.

Your absence leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of people around you and most especially in the neighborhood, but the memory and the selfless love you bestowed upon them will forever be a guiding light.  Your legacy in their heart,  is a testament to the extraordinary woman you were. Thank you for choosing love and family, for being there when they needed you most.

Rest in peace, dear aunt. Your love and sacrifice will live on in our hearts, and we will forever be grateful for the life you helped bring into this world.

Your departure was a loss for the Obe's family. I fondly remember when I was in primary 2 and used to skip school. You would scold me and ensure that I went, even going as far as reporting me to the headmaster. That single act transformed my life for the better, and I will never take it for granted.
In our early years, you brought us up as one family in a large compound. Your presence will be greatly missed by all, especially your son. May your soul rest in peace, Our Big Aunt Labake

Mrs ogunlade (Toyin Ikire).
