Ms. Aries Lekia Sands, the daughter of Ms. Sylvia Sands and the late Mr. Nathaniel Sands, was born April 16, 1982 in Troup County, GA. She departed this life on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at EAMC-Lanier, Valley, AL.
Aries accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined the Pilgrim Baptist Church, Lanett, AL.
Aries was a product of Lanett High School where she was a member of the 2000 graduating class. She was currently employed with Bowen East Head Start and Dollar General in LaFayette, AL.
“KeeKee”, as she was known to most, truly enjoyed working with the students at the Bowen East Head Start. She had a passion for all of her students. Aries looked forward to going to work daily, because she knew she would be greeted with beautiful smiley faces. “KeeKee” loved planning events. She would be the person to always get the event together and invited family members and friends.
Aries was a faithful and committed member of the Lanett Athletic Booster Club.
She was a good mother to her children and loved them dearly.
An uncle, Bernard Melton, preceded her in death.
