Her Life

Katherine Dozier was born May 29, 1953 in Lee County, Alabama to Joe Mitchell Dozier, Sr. and Mary Lee Morgan Dozier.  She accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Nelius Missionary Baptist Church in Smiths, Alabama.

Katherine was a 1972 graduate of Smiths Station High School.   She furthered her education by attending Phenix City Vocational Training Center majoring in Accounting.  She departed this life on Monday, September 16, 2013 at her residence lovingly surrounded by family.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two daughters, Gabrielle L. Dozier and Shandrell K. Thomas both of Tuscaloosa, AL; two granddaughters, India Alexandra and China-Katherine Dozier both of Tuscaloosa, AL; her devoted mother, Mary L. Morgan, Smiths, AL; father, Joe (Christine) Dozier, Sr., Phenix City, AL; seven brothers, Charlie C., Samuel (Andrea), Joe Jr., Eugene (Andrianne) and Jerry Dozier all of Smiths, AL,  Christopher (Tarnisha) and Terance Tarver both of Phenix City, AL; seven sisters, Mary Nell Frazier, Mary Bell McBride, Lou Verne Caldwell, Betty Dozier, Lorraine Greathouse, Angela (Ismael) Perez and Mildred Dozier all of Smiths, AL; seven aunts, Susie (Isaiah) Rowell, Jearlene (Tommie) Williams, Elsie Quarles, Beverly Morgan and Margaret Turpin all of Smiths, AL, Sallie M. (Willie) Thomas, Hurtsboro, AL and Alzattia Ward, Phenix City, AL; three uncles, Walter Morgan, Charles Turpin and Jessie Turpin; one great-aunt, Bertha Mae Thomas, Smiths, AL; and, a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends including her special friend, Freddie Ezell, Smiths, AL.
