Tribute to my loving and last closest sibling, Mrs Aduke Taiwo. With a heavy heart I am writing this farewell message, in remembrance of my beautiful amiable only senior sister. I thank God for your life, all the years of togetherness we spent together before you moved to the United States to live with your wonderful loving children. At this juncture I want to thank all your children for the many years of great and loving care of you to the very end. I pray that the almighty God will reward them and grant all their heart's desires. Since March this year that I returned from Canada I have been contemplating coming to see you and spend some time with you in the US, and when you finished your work here on Earth, I was not informed until funeral time, because they know how greatly I will miss you. My only consolation is that you are in a better place, resting with the Lord our blessed saviour, and free at last from this turbulent world. Farewell until resurrection morning when we shall meet to part no more my loving sister Olakitan Aduke Aro. I will miss you. Farewell until resurrection morning. Your loving sister Oyinkansola Gesinde

Mummy Oyo, that is what l remember calling you when l was young, as l grew older it changed to mummy Oluyole.It seemed the derevitive of mummy changed with each location you lived. As a child , l remember being around you so much, lived with you and attending significant events. My earliest memories was coming to stay with you on holidays in Oyo. We had a beautiful time as children, skipping around with the locals in Esinele. As a naughty boyish child, to my memory l never got a smack from you. I try to recall being told off and going off sad, l dont remember that either. Yet you were an educationist to the core. I rejoice for the Long and fruitfull you lived. Yet sad that l did not see you in the latter years you spent in the US. I think to myself, what we do when someone is alive is the most important thing........... Sad an era is closing up....... . My memories of you will be evergreen. Thank you for accommodating me and for all those beautiful times when l would make sure l appear in every picture whenever you have an occasion. I only wish in the last few months that, l knew it was nearly time, l will have liked to do things differently. Adieu mummy, as you rest in the Lord in a glorious body. We thank God, you lived a Christian life and you have gone to glory! Adieu mummy . Love always....

My dear Big Mummy and Aunty,
I have loved you as far back as age 10, when i was old enough to really understand the meaning of an Aunt.

My Mum told me, that she took me to your house after my birth and you bath and nursed me for a few days. Thank you Ma.

I remember the holidays, both at Ibadan and Lagos, i always looked forward to spending time at yours, because you were ever so loving and sweet, that you won't even hurt a fly. I admired your beauty and fashion sense even till your old age.

I thank God for your life, a wonderful one indeed, your virtues, too numerous to state but because you gave love, you received as well. All your Children have the same qualities- loving, caring etc .

You live on in our hearts. Mama o ku, Ile lo loo, IIe to lo, Ile Ayo (Yoruba Song)

My dearest sister Olaitan, during your years of long service as an
Education Inspector; you served in different communities diligently and you gave back to the society your strong work ethics, which you were brought up with.
We had our memorable moments together growing up and, as we raised our families though apart; we shared such beautiful rendezvous'.
We had our normal sibling differences but, you were a sister in a million and l loved you dearly.

Dear Big Mum,
A great Aunt, sweet and lovng. You were Genuinly concerned about all around you. I really appreciate your care towards my family, I cant forget how you stood by me when my family was away in Scotland. You were an epitome of beauty naturally and you had beautiful heart. Within you lied the spirit of meekness which was your gtreatest strenght. Tribute by Yinka Gesinde : 2nd August 2017

I am aunty Olaitan Aduke`s eldest nephew. I was born when she was abroad studying in England. My earliest memories of her are of the expensive toys : train set, teddy bear etc., that she used to send to me from England.
When she returned home . I remember the memorable evenings I sat next to her while she sewed on the electric sewing machine she brought back with her, She was my mother`s elder sister, but to me she was just another mum.
She will be greatly missed. However we thank God for her long and fruitful life.
Peace unto her in the bosom of Christ.

Thank you for the gift of your life that you shared with us. The memories you’ve made with us will last forever. The kindness you’ve shared with us will never fade.

The most wonderful gift you could ever give is the special part of you and the impact you’ve had on all of our lives that now lives in each of us.

I had the pleasure of having Grandma live with us for long periods of time since I was little. During that time, Grandma told me stories, how to knit, and we talked about my future together. She was patient in letting me ask way too many questions and answering them to the best of her ability. I will treasure the memories we had together for the rest of my life, and I hope God grants you peace in heaven. I love you,

Mine was a childhood filled with love, a childhood filled with joy.
Mine is a mother that has made it possible.
Would I change anything about my dearest mother, no.
Mummy you have meant so much to us. You brought us up the best way possible, with selfless love and care and measured correction, when appropriate.
Dear GOD, thank you for the opportunity of a righteous mother, who personally led me to CHRIST at 16. A mother who lived to reap the fruits of her labor.
Dear Mum, thank you for the sleepless nights when nursing me from malaria. Thank you for waiting up all night with prayers on your lips when I am out late into the night.
Thank you for ... I could go on for ever ...
Thank you
Thank you Mummy,
I love you Mummy,
Till we meet at the foot of JESUS, to part no more.
Thank you.

Mummy was the Rock of the Family, the gentle heart beat to her Children and the joy of her soul mate (Daddy JOT) whom she has now gone to join in Heaven. Mummy, your life was a blessing to us all and your memory will be forever cherished by all who knew you. We give thanks to God for a life well spent and for the wonderful legacy you leave behind through your Children and Grandchildren. The bible says “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven”.
A Time to be born and a time to die
A Time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted:
A time to break down and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn and a time to dance;
We thank God that Mummy was able to go through the Seasons of Life and is now at rest in Our Father’s Arms.

Dear Grandma,

Today we have gathered here to give thanks to God Almighty
For letting our Grandmother reach the ripe old age of ninety
One way or another you have touched the lives of everyone in this room
Helping us grow and prosper like a flower about to bloom

In the language of Yoruba your name Olaitan means endless
wealth

But the way God blessed you with long life it should mean endless
health

I remember times when we’d walk down the driveway and you’d
connect to me as if I was a chain

And the endless Thanksgivings we would dance together with the
assistance of your cane

Although physically you have gone away
The memories we shared together will always stay
And even though today is a sad day, there is no reason to cry
Because I know you’re on your way to heaven in your rocket ship, flying
through the sky

Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holiday’s, and on this particular thanksgiving, the last thanksgiving I got to spend with Grandma, most of the family had gathered at our house to celebrate. After all the eating was done, the party really started. With my uncle djaying music throughout the house, we spent a good part of the night dancing, Grandma included and it was one of those moments that will stay with me forever.

Reflecting on the time that I got to spend with my Grandma, that Thanksgiving in particular, I have to be grateful. I want to thank God for the life of my Grandma, for the 90 years that she spent on earth with us. I want to thank my Grandma for all that she has done for me. From taking care of my when I was younger, to singing to me and being one of the first people to shower me with love, I will forever be grateful.

I love you Grandma, and will forever miss you. I pray your soul may rest in perfect peace.

My dear Mummy,
I love you so much, thank you for the upbringing you gave us and always there for your immediate and extended family. I know you are now with your loved ones that have graduated to heaven before you.
You and daddy were good examples to us, we will keep the tourch burning in the Taiwo Famliy.
Sun re O. Aduke Edu, aya Adufe.

We had a wonderful mother,
One who never really grew old;
Her smile was made of sunshine,
And her heart was solid gold;
Her eyes were as bright as shining stars,
And in her cheeks fair roses you see.
We had a wonderful mother,
And that' s the way it will always be.
But take heed, because
She's still keeping an eye on all of us,
So let's make sure
She will like what she sees.

You were always thanking and blessing everyone that you come across.
I would like to seize this opportunity to thank all our friends, and beautiful women that cared for mummy. may the Almighty God continue to Bless you all.
