Muriel and Les were amongst our neighbours when I was growing up in Bilston, West Midlands. Their Son, Terry, was one of a group of us children who played together on our yard. Muriel was a lovely person, and a peace maker. She always seemed to be able to create a calming atmosphere whenever there was a squabble or a problem of any sort. She was radiant, warm and looked out for all the children, not just her own. She was kind to us, and I remember her with loving affection and will always remember her smile and her lovely face. Thank you, Muriel, for being a part of my childhood memories. R.I.P.

My Muriel was a quiet, gentle woman, very thougtful and considerate to every one. she worked hard when a young girl and continued to do so for us as long as she was able. Our friend the Rev. Jean Holyhead once said that she was the peace keeper in our immediate neighbourhood. I first met her when she was just fifteen, i loved her then, I love her still.
