Her Life

Sis. Myrtle L. Keel was born August 24, 1934 to the late Edmond C. & Lillie P. Hall. She departed this life onApril 12,2016 at Coosa Valley Medical Center.

She was the second oldest of ten children; four brothers, Edmond Hall, Jr, Willie Hall, Lavar Hall, Bennie Hall; five sisters, the late Prince Ella Hall, Tula Knight, Rosa Wyckoff, Gladys Stowes and Lillie Faye Hall.

She confessed Christ at the age of thirteen at the Coga Hill AME Church in Daviston, Alabama. She graduated from ZanaHigh School. She worked at the A. Holly Patterson Geriatric Center for twenty-one years and retired in 1989.

In search of better opportunities, she headed to New York where
she met and married James L. Keel of Clarendon, North Carolina. This
July 4th she would have been married fifty-six years to the love of her
life who she refered to as "Lee". To this union two children were born,
Delphine Keel ofNew Site, Alabama and Rev. James Keel, Jr., who preceeded
her in death.

She was the First Lady of Calvary Baptist Church in Roosevelt,
New York where her husband pastored for thirty-four years. Upon his
retirement, she said, "I want to go home" and that's what he did; he
brought her home to live.

Her favorite songs were "sweeping Through the City" and "I
Just Can't Give Up Now".

She leaves to mourn; her loving husband, Rev. James L. Keel,
Sr.; daughter, Delphine Keel; seven grandchildren, Nickisha Livingston,
Michelle Thompson, Sharon Lewis, Monique Keel, Olivia Keel,
Benjamin H. Lewis, Jr., James L. Keel, III; four adoptive grandchildren,
Laportia Hackworth, Damien Hackworth, Eric Haclcworth, Jr., Aiesha
Hicks; great-grandchildren, Rashawn, Malcolm, Aiyana, Maleeka,
Armel, Caiden, Amaya, Mylah; six sister-in-laws, Ora Keel, Pearlene
Kelly, Alice Bellany, Diane Hall, Alice Hall, Dorothy Hall; three
brother-in-laws, Henry Hall, Ike Kelly, John Wyckoff; two Goddaughters,
Kelis Kelley, Nia Lassiter; one God-son, Eric Hackworth,
Sr.; two special men, Benjamin H. Lewis, Andrew Harris and a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
