Myrtle Louise Roane was born July 22, 1938 in Chester, Pennsylvania. She passed away on January 30, 2019 in her home in Littleton, Colorado.

In life, Myrtle was best known for her active role in  the community, her vibrant sense of humor and her dedication to her family as a loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. She had a laugh that filled rooms and her gentle candor never shied away from giving us all the open and honest advice we so frequently needed. She was a woman of strong values, compassion and the very embodiment of authenticity. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

As a child and young adult, Myrtle spent most of her time in Philadelphia, Chester, Wildwood, NJ, and Asbury Park, NJ.  She attended Bartrum High School where she played volleyball. She was well liked and stayed in touch with many of her school friends throughout her life. After high school she became an operator for Bell Telephone. She was the second generation in the family to work for Ma Bell, a tradition that would continue with two of her daughters.

In 1958, Myrtle was introduced to Arnold Francis Roane by mutual friends and in 1960, they were married. Until her death, she was Arnold's selfless supporter throughout his accomplished career as a corporate executive. Myrtle was an excellent social partner and hostess who delivered memorable experiences to a wide range of personal and professional friends. Additionally, she was tirelessly devoted to ensuring her three daughters received the best education and life opportunities available.

Outside of the home, Myrtle's aspirations were deeply rooted in serving others.  In 1976 while living in Connecticut, she and a small group of determined women chartered the Fairfield Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.  She remained an active member of The Links, Inc for over 40 years and upon her 80th birthday she was awarded Platinum status.  In 1985, Myrtle became a Mary Kay Consultant and remained active until her death. She truly enjoyed helping others look and feel beautiful.

Myrtle enjoyed traveling and each year visited all of her children and grandchildren in Boston, California and Cincinnati.  She and Arnold also enjoyed annual trips to Aruba, Palm Dessert and Hilton Head.  In 1978, she traveled with her family to England, France, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy. Myrtle used travel to fulfill her lifelong curiosity by taking a 6-week tour of China and 2-week cruise of wild Alaska.

Myrtle was loyal and honest, qualities that ensured enduring friendships.  She was member of the same neighborhood book club for over 20 years, and a member of the Lakewood Bridge Club also for 20 years.  Most impressive, every Friday for over 35 years she had breakfast with her dear friend, Judith.

Myrtle is survived by: her husband Arnold Francis Roane of Littleton, Colorado; her daughters Denise Roane Barnes and her husband Rick of Boston and Arlene Roane Rahn and her husband Henry Rahn of Littleton, Colorado; her niece Reverend Jill Felicia Bradway of  Anchorage, Alaska; her granddaughters Amina Frances Taylor, Alyson Reed Beebe and Devon Denise Beebe. She is preceded in death by her father Charles McCoy; her mother, Emma McCoy; her sister Helen Bradway; and her daughter, Rochell Lee Roane Beebe.
