This was taken I think at your family reunion in Jacksonville. Tears are falling as I look at this picture. We haven't spoken in years but you were never forgotten. Rest in peace, Kia. My deepest condolences to the family.

Chrissy Jones cookies

March 5, 2015

Kia's locker was right beside mine during my time @ Troup High School. Chrissy Jones used to sell freshly baked hot cookies every morning before class.  She only had two flavors; peaut butter which was my favorite and chocolate chip. Chrissy's locker was right beside Kia's so we always got the cookies first before she started selling them to everybody else.  One particular morning, Kia got to his locker before me and when I got there he said, Chrissy aint got no cookies this morning!  I said boy you lying.  I waited and waited.  Chrissy finally showed up and sure enough she had sold out of cookies.  I said Chrissy, you know you supposed to have my peanut butter cookies waiting on me every morning. (They only cost $1 for a bag of cookies) she said Kia told me to give them to him this morning!!  I said what!!!  When I turned around Kia was gone!!!  I was hot because that silly boy
ate my cookies.  It took me 2 days to catch up with Kia again and when I confronted him all he did was laugh!!!

The RED Chevy

March 4, 2015

We were in 6th grade my mother purchased a 76 red Chevrolet Impala. When we pulled up at the bus stop and I got out the car, Nakia said " LaShawn yo momma must be working for the fire department now? As mean as I could I responded "NO"... Nakia responded "Well I thought she was, because her new car is LONG and RED just like the fire truck! Baahahaha..... every morning there after I endured the verbal sirens sounds he made when my mother pulled off from the bus stop. Fast forward about four years Nakia is STILL my classmate and the RED Chevy Impala is STILL on the road except now I'm the driver not my mother. We're in high school now and Nakia needs/wants a ride home. He rides all the way from Lagrange to West Point in the MIDDLE of the back seat STILL talking smack! Half way down the interstate he says "Shawn hit that airplane button and put in on auto pilot, this car is long as an airplane, don't act like you ain't got one! You and Stephanie must be in 1st class cause y'all waayy up there! He then erupts in laughter Baahaaaahaaa.....Just like Fred Sanford No one was exempt from being the butt of his jokes and inpersonations!

My brother My classmate My teammate . Rest in peace GMC4LIFE

March 2, 2015

Every morning when we got on the bus(the cheese wagon as you deemed to call it..lol)at the bottom of the hill on 9th St. to head to school you ALWAYS, ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS had a steak biscuit with grape jelly packets and a orange juice from Hardee's. This was simply the norm for you. Well on this one particular morning, your mom dropped you off first at the bus stop and then went to go get your steak biscuit. Needless to say, the bus pulled up before she got back. We all got on the bus but you waited at the end of line looking for your mom. Once you got to the top step, you told Booney, "We can't leave yet, my mom is on her way back with my food." Booney was not a person of many words and when he did speak, it was short, stern and to the point. Booney turned and said Naaawh Kia, you won't be getting no steak biscuit from Hardee's this morning. Kia(who had yet to sit down) was leaning against my seat looking out the window and then turned to Booney and said "Who ain't getting no steak biscuit?! Who!!?.. Mannn I'm telling you Booney, If you pull this bus off before "Bae Bae" get back here.. WE GONE FLIP SOME FURNITURE OR SUM!!!!" The whole bus erupted with laughter!! Even Booney had to laugh. Sure enough, she pulled up with his special steak biscuit order and handed it to him through the window. :-) When Kia graduated High school in 1993, I believe that's when Hardee's went out of business!!! :-)

Rest in Paradise my sweet brother and friend. Take your rest now.
