Her Life

Nancy Emalee Crump was born on December 4, 1934 in Chandler, Arizona to Jesse and Ola Jean Crump. Nancy was the fifth of six children – Leon, Betty, Helen, Joan, Nancy and Carl. The Crump Family moved to Somerton, Arizona in 1944. Nancy attended Somerton Elementary School and then Yuma Union High School.

Nancy married Kenneth (Bud) McKay in January of 1952 in Yuma, Arizona. They had a daughter, Cynthia Sue McKay, in August of 1953 and a son, Kenneth Leon McKay, in September of 1955. Nancy married her second husband Ralph Frank Snow in December of 1982 in Yuma, Arizona.

Nancy was very family oriented. Some of our fondest memories are of traveling to the White Mountains and spending weeks on end in cabins; hiking, fishing, cooking and just talking. Nancy and her sisters Betty (Crump) Edwards and Joan (Crump) Brown made these White Mountain trips a tradition with their grandchildren. Nancy loved to cook, fish, read, travel and spend time with her family.

Nancy was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in late 2002. She underwent nine rounds of Chemo Therapy that gave her several more years with us then even the doctors thought we would have. Nancy was a fighter, she insisted on being there to see her family through so many milestones.  Nancy did not lose her fight with cancer, she merely succumbed to it. She fought long and hard, but eventually her body could fight no more.  Nancy passed on July 8, 2011 in Sun City West, Arizona at home surrounded by her family.

Nancy was survived by two children Cynthia (McKay) Moore and Kenneth McKay. Her five Grandchildren; Chistopher Charles Mitchell born February 1970, Shannon Michelle (Mitchell) Armstrong born November 1976, Nicole Maire (Moore) (Carter) Jones born December 1981, Gregory Michael McKay born September 1987 and Joshua David Moore born April 1989. Nancy was also blessed with 8 Great-Grandchildren; Chase Bradley Mitchell born December 1994, Trinitie Lee Jones born December 2000, Taylor Renee Armstrong born February 2001, Joseph Lee Carter born November 2002, Alexis Jordan Jones born September  2003, Clayton Ford Armstrong born February 2004, Brendan Michael Jones born July 2004 and Sean Patrick Carter born August 2005. She also had many nieces and nephews that meant the world to her.

We will all miss her dearly.
