Nancy Huck passed away peacefully on November 2nd at Oregon Health Sciences University. She was born October 1st, 1954 to Clarence Huck & Lorraine (Wemhoff) Bunt. She was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, the middle child of five girls, graduating from Alameda Elementary and Grant High Schools.

Nancy was a true feminist of the 1970’s while attending the University of Oregon. Originally pursuing a degree in Women’s Studies, she discovered her love for helping and healing. She graduated from Mt. Hood Community College and Walla Walla University with a Bachelors degree in Nursing. She later earned her Masters Degree as a Nurse Practitioner at the University of Portland.

Adventist Medical Center was Nancy’s professional home for thirty-seven years, working in cardiac rehabilitation, in the critical and pulmonary care units and case management. She has always been the compassionate caregiver for family and friends, so many have been comforted and encouraged by her words and deeds.

Nancy enjoyed being a mother and was very active in supporting her son’s academic endeavors.

She retired in May 2017 with ambitions to travel across the country and beyond. The island of Kauai was her nearly-annual retreat where she hosted many family members and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father Clarence, her mother, Lorraine and her sister, Patricia Primavera. She is survived by her son, Nathan Boardman, her sisters: Susan (Rob) Lowery, Judy (Jim) Gallucci, and Shirley Warren.

On Saturday, November 18th, 2017 we had a memorial celebration at the Calaroga Terrace in Portland, OR. It was a beautiful service with comforting words by Lisa Vetter, as well as memories shared by Eileah, Suzie, and Sandi. It was great seeing everybody. She gave her life to care; raising her son, working in the hospital, volunteering, and helping family and friends.

Nancy's ashes are placed at Finley-Sunset Hills in Portland OR, resting in a beautiful urn near a fountain. Flowers lay beside her. She will forever live through our memories and actions. She watching us and waiting, for one day we will all join her.
