His Life

Ndubisi Nweke

April 9, 2021
Ndubisi Benjanin Nweke was born on the 29th of May1970 in the town of Ozalla, Nkanu West LGA, present day Enugu State.

He was the 2nd son and 4th child of Late Igwe Frank Onyemaechi Nweke and LoLo Francisca Nweke.

Ndubisi nicknamed  Dr. Smart or Smart by his peers attended St. Paul's School Ebute Mette Lagos in the early years of his life. He later concluded his primary education at Shehu Garbai primary school Maiduguri, Borno State in 1982 and then attended Federal Government college Maiduguri (FGCM)for his secondary school education where he graduated in1988.

While in secondary school, Ndubisi distinguished himself in sports and an exceptional skill in interpersonal relationship with both teachers and students which earned him the post of Social Prefect those days in FGCM.  His rare talent and ability in managing and bringing people of diverse background and culture together further earned him more admiration from people around him.

Ndubisi later went to the Federal University of Technology Yola, Adamawa State in 1989 where he studied Mathematics  before going over to the College of Fisheries and Marine Technology (FCFMT) Lagos to study Marine Engineering just to fulfill the dream of becoming a Marine Engineer from 1995 -1998 and then worked briefly with Skolar Shipping Nigeria Limited from 1998 to year 2000.

Smart then decided to leave the shores of Nigeria and sujorn to far away Japan to explore other life opportunities and perhaps avail some of his wealth of experience and talent in that part of the world as well. While overseas, he worked very hard through correspondence and online studies to obtain a bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BBA) from Universidad Empresarial De Costa Rica (UNEM) San Jose, Costa Rica in May 2012 and a Master's degree in Information Technology from SMC University Switzerland in December 2016.

Benjamin Ndubisi  Nweke started work with ITTTI Japan Company Limited in the year 2001. Again he worked very hard to distinguish himself in performance, service delivery and unique interpersonal relationship with his colleagues at work and rose through the ranks. He stood for justice, honesty, fairness and equity.
He worked with ITTTI Japan  until his death.
Ndubisi made a mark for  standing up for truth and for being brutally blunt.

Those who knew Ndubisi would attest to the fact that he was tough minded, highly courageous, brave, very humble, considerate and decisive. Ndubisi was also technically inclined and anything beyond him would most probably evade even the most talented technical professional.

Smart cared so much for his nuclear and extended family and would do anything to stand up for his friends and family.

Ndubisi Benjamin Nweke is survived by his wife Kaori and sons Jeremy and Chidi;  mother Lolo Francisca Nweke; brothers Frank Nweke II, Mike Obinna Nweke, Andy Nweke and sisters Mrs Callister Ekeh, Mrs Ijeoma Onumaegbu and Mrs Ngozi Obi; nephews, nieces, grandmother, uncles, aunts and numerous cousins. He was a great Dad.

Even though the terrors of pain and death stared him in the face, Ndii remained gracious, and courageous till the end.

He would be sorely missed.

Rest in Peace Ndii.
