I had the opportunity to be friends with Neal for the last 32 years. In that time I found him to be loyal, giving, forgiving and always there when I needed a friend. He was always positive even in the light of set-backs and challenges. The last time I saw him, about 2 months ago, he seemed happy and greeted me with big a smile. He was like the “salt of the earth,” making things better wherever he was. I always had a good time when I was around him, and I know my life is better because of my friendship with him.

I had the pleasure of working with Neal on several projects with the CVEF.  He gave so much of himself, he was funny, had a sense of purpose, welcoming and smart. He never sought the spotlight, he was about doing good things for many people and did not seek out the credit for all of his good work. He is and will always be an inspiration to me.  I will miss him, my thoughts are with his family, with love, Mark
