Nellie Billingsley was born August 28, 1952, in Alexander City, Alabama,
to Rufus Bennie Jackson Sr. and Catherine Russell Jackson. She attended Laurel High
School in Alexander City, Alabama, for a short period of time before receiving her GED
in Texas. She later earned an Associate's Degree in Medical Records from Temple College
in Temple, Texas; a Certificate in Chemical Dependence Counseling from Central Texas
College in Killeen, Texas; and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from the
University of Austin in Austin, Texas.

Sis. Nellie united with Eighth Street Baptist Church in Temple, Texas. She served faithfully in Mission I as Third Vice President, Youth Director, Adult Praise Dance Team, Culinary Department, The Historical Committee, and the Sanctuary Choir.

She worked for Bell County Juvenile Probation and MHMR of Temple as a Chemical Dependency Counselor.

Nellie Jean jackson Billingsley departed this life on Monday, July 25, 2016, in Temple, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Tracy Leander Billingsley.

Left to cherish her memories are: her companion, Tommy Lee Brown of Temple, Texas; one son, Darryl Billingsley of Temple, Texas; three daughters, Carolyn Martinez (Frank) of Honolulu, Hawaii, Catherine Flowers of Killeen, Texas, and Juanita Billingsley (Darryl) of Belton, Texas; two brothers, Rufus Jackson Jr. (Teresa) of Temple, Texas, and Raymond Jackson (Sharon) of Alexander City, Alabama; one sister, Gloria Jackson (James) of Alexander City, Alabama; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
