Nelson Wong was born in California just after WWII. The second of four brothers, he moved with his family as a child to and grew up in Texas, graduating from high school, then receiving his degrees in Engineering.

He worked for the US Federal Government for over 40-years, on over 400 projects at various positions and organizations. He received numerous recognitions including Performance, Special Act and Commander’s Awards. He retired from Federal service in the late 2000s but continued his work as a Federal contractor until his death in 2013.

For 40 years Nelson was an active member of a Church in Maryland, where he met and married his wife. He was a devout Christian who, with his wife, faithfully served and supported this church. He co-founded the Young Adult English Fellowship in 1992, English Worship Service and English Ministry leadership team in 1995. He also served on the Deacon Board and various church building committees. He was instrumental in establishing the first Church Retreat in 1995 and English Discipleship groups in 1999, and calling two interim English pastors.

He loved to garden and cook, watch Star Trek and the SciFi Channel. He also enjoyed do-it-yourself home improvement projects, travel and learning new computer programs. He was also engaged in several entrepreneurial adventures.

Nelson passed away December 26, 2013. He is survived by his wife, his son, his brother and many other loving relatives.
