NICHOLAS SHANE CONRAD OBITUARY

Nicholas (Nick) Shane Conrad was the 2nd of (2) sons born to John C. and Barbara J. (Hester) Conrad on May 23, 1979 at Norman, Ok. He passed away suddenly at the Norman Regional Hospital on August 20th at the age of (36) years.

Nick was a lifetime resident of Cleveland County. He spent his first (5) years of life making Norman his home. He moved with his family to Noble and started the first grade. That year began a lifetime of family and classmate memories. Nick graduated with the Noble Class of (1998). His school years consisted of playing his favorite sport which was baseball. His dream of pitching for Noble High School became a reality. Nick’s other dream was enlisting in the U.S. Army as his father. After high school he enlisted and was stationed at boot camp and military police school at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was stationed at Ft. Hood, Tx. and was a member of the 1st Cavalry 545th Division. As a military policeman he was stationed at Afganistan, Kosovo, Iraq, Germany, Italy and France. He received (2) Bronze Star Medals with (2) Oak Leaves and a V (for Valor), 2 Army Commendation Medals, 6 Army Achievement Medals, Meritorious Unit Commendation, 2 Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal and Star, 3 Overseas Service Ribbons, NATO Medal, Combat Badge, Air Assault Badge, Driver and Marksman Badge, German Armed Forces Badge Gold and German Army Marksmanship Badge Gold. Nick received an Honorable Discharge in (2008).

He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents Henry and Opal Hester and his Paternal Grandmother Helen Conrad. Those who survive him include his Father and Mother John and Barbara Conrad of Noble, Wife Autumn of Norman, (3) Sons; Colton, Parker and Shaun, (2) Step-Sons; Luke and Nate Morris, (1) Brother Scott and Patty Conrad, (2) Nephews; Hudson and Noah Conrad, Aunt, Dorothy Spence and many other relatives and friends.
