Foot prints are all we are left with and it’s not in the sand but in our hearts. The cleanest, neatest ever fresh, teacher, coach and straightforward as it get is how you were. You are missed everyday, and it’s crazy and unfair to think that you are gone. The legacy had just began and you were stolen from us, your memories will be forever treasured. The legacy continue and lions never dies fly high and go in peace and love. Sleep on beloved sleep on and take ur rest. I no you are here with us daily just in a different seat now  . You were one of the best teacher/coach. R. I. P Soapman

Incredible I am sitting here writing these words, my friend, you meant so much to the people you interact with whether daily or sparingly, so genuine in your feelings for anything, clear and obvious passion for Calabar and the students you coach and mentor, they lost in you a father and to myself, a brother who we deeply love and miss. My son who loved jumping in the pit while we all watch you coach said, " Daddy, I miss Soapman", only 4 years old but still you left a mark on his little heart to this day. Until we meet again, RIP Nicholas

I met up with this dude twice late last year
Re business ...and I'm telling you he was such a respectful and humbled young man. Such a go getter and very abition. With the little I saw with him I could tell he was a man with a HUGE heart for people and heading big place.
Definitely a great soul gone too soon especially in this manner. He truly did not deserve this.
Continued prayers going out to the family, friends and the Calabar family.

Nicholas, it's so hard to think about you without shedding a tear, sigh. No one knew that February 14, 2021 would be the last day seeing you and if anyone knew that I'm sure we would try and keep you a bit longer here on earth with us. All the good times we shared, the silly moments, the times when we would laugh non-stop will remain as memories. As the writer said, life is like a journey on a train with stations, with changes of routes and with accidents, many will get off during the journey and leave a permanent vacuum in our lives.. You got off the train earlier than expected and without giving any warning that you're leaving. You leave so many persons asking God why he had to take you from us so soon?!
We can never come to terms as to what happened that night but remembering the person that you are, I'm sure you would want us to keep smiling and remembering you as the jovial person who's always smiling and giving jokes nonstop. You're forever loved in life and death..Gone too Soon!!

Nuff years we were at it (as competing coaches) at the long jump pit. Always battling and always respectful no matter what the outcome was of the competition. Soapman and I did the iaaf level 2 together in 2006 and as a result we always interact. I would tackle him about anything that I didn't like about what Calabar was doing, and likewise, congratulate him on every achievement. I watched him grow at the long jump pit and the results are there to show. I will miss him, I surely will miss him.
We will keep clapping as long as we can.

Soap man my brother you'll truly be missed. You were more than just a coach for most of us boys, you were a big brother, a father and a friend. I can remember the morning when I woke up and heard the sad news of your passing, tears came to my eyes as I was in disbelief that you were no longer here with us... I could still hear your voice shouting at us 'man them fall in and take uno run up'' one I'll never forget. There was never a dull moment when you were around because you were always smiling or had something funny to say. You were truly a warrior, a lion , a person that believes in the unthinkable and believe in your boys. you'll truly be missed my friend, rest well and we'll see you soon.... The Calabar Old Boys’ Association and interest groups extends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Nicholas “Soapman” Neufville.   Nicholas served his alma mater and athletic community with passionate intensity. He remained true to his passion of producing great athletes to represent school and country. However, above this, he will long be remembered as one who brought laughter and joy to everyone.

Like a true lion, he zealously answered the call of Calabar, to become a teacher, a coach and a mentor to Calabar students.  Under his over 10-year tutelage he led many students to represent school and country with most moving on to taking up scholarships in the events. He practiced and taught our students good values: dedication, discipline, respect for others, respect for self, focus, humility, teamwork, keep trying, ‘never-say-die’.  He encouraged all to strive for the utmost for the highest.

“It is not the presence of someone that brings meaning to life…but the way someone touches your heart, gives life a beautiful meaning”.

Though Nicholas is no longer with us physically, his roar lives on through the lives he has impacted.

May you find eternal rest along the banks of the ancient river, in the pride of lions.

Here Sir, Here Sir, so you answered near or far. Here sir, Here sir, at the call of Calabar!

ONE OF A KIND

April 27, 2021
Its hard to write this without being choked by tears
Nicholas, you were a one of a kind!
Unflappable, you bore all types of 'jiving' with a smile, never taking it personal. You were not looking for great personal gain, just high achievements in what you did.
You were a high achiever, never satisfied with your charges doing less than their best. You were hard on them, yet they all knew that your heart was soft, and your well of tears was easy to overflow, because your charges meant so much to you.
Your coaching skills were multiple. I remember you assisting Giddy greatly with his jumpers, as well as your timely advice to the track coaches.
The boys loved you and trusted you, and knew that you would always go the extra mile for them.
You memory lives on in the sands and grass and track at 61, and in the many lives of Team Calabar who had the pleasure of being a part of your 'too short' wonderful story!!!
GONE FAR TOO SOON
