For what is a man

 What has he got

 If not himself

 Then he has not

 To say the things

 He truly feels

 And not the words

 of one who kneels.

He always stood tall and independent and we are proud.

Thinking of you once again...wishing you were physically with us. You are so loved and so missed here on Earth.

His Life

High School Graduation

June 21, 2019

It's high school graduation time again.  Nick left this earth 2 days before his high school graduation due to an automobile accident.  His life was over; our family & friends left to mourn his loss. His friends gave him a standing ovation at the graduation.  That gesture was a wonderful tribute to his life at a school where he was active and well loved. In the end, we are left with his memory. As his mother, I feel him around me at times. Or is it my imaginative wish? Perhaps not.  As Scott Holland wrote at the turn of the century as an professor at Oxford:

...Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?

I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.

Our first meeting...

July 1, 2019

I met Nick at the same time I met Denise , Todd and Ben. I remember it like it was yesterday. We ate outside on the back porch and Ed, Ben and Nick played some version of Baseball in the back yard. I knew then that I loved thi family and wanted to be a part of it. I loved watching him grow into an amazing young man. I miss the future that should have been.
