Nicholas James Warne

Nicholas “Nick” James Warne, the son of Dale and Sherry (Hjelle) Warne, was born on October 21, 1981 in Thief River Falls, MN. Nick was baptized into the Christian faith at the Westaker Free Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN.  He was a member at Roseau Community Church. Nick grew up in Roseau and attended school there, graduating from Roseau High School in 2000.

He and Colette Worrall had two children, Jayden and Kyla. They were married on July 13, 2002 and later divorced.

Nick and Kayla Prelvitz were engaged to be married December 31, 2009 and together had one daughter, Kali.

Nick worked construction over the years and was working for Spruce Valley Construction up until his death. Nick loved his family deeply, especially his children. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, family and friends. His hobbies included hunting, camping, fishing, snowmobiling.

Nick will be remembered for his smile, his outgoing personality, his youthful energy, and his work ethic. Nick was a very loving person, a good son and father, and he loved to goof around with his family and friends. There was never a dull moment when Nick was around.

Nick passed away on Friday, September 18, 2009 at the Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN as the result of a dirt bike accident in Marshall County, New Solum Township. He was 27.

He is survived by his three children, Jayden, Kyla, and Kali; parents, Dale and Sherry Warne of Roseau; fiancée, Kayla Prelvitz of Roseau; brother, Chris (Jindallay) Warne of Moorhead; grandparents, James and Betty Hjelle of Newfolden, MN; nephew, William; niece, Amelia; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Alpha Warne; aunts, Sue Hjelle and Gayle Warne.
