Tributes
Leave a tributeYou are still my inspiration to living a brave life in my big-girl pants. I always want you to be proud of those whose lives you touched with your fierceness. Thank you for being in my life. We will always miss you!
I miss you this time every year. Happy birthday week in heaven to my childhood BFF. I hope heaven has a beach somewhere you can get a killer tan, a cold beverage, & a good book! Love you.
Happy Birthday! Hope you're having an awesome time celebrating today. We sure do miss you, but I know you'd make fun of us if we were sad or sappy. I think of you every time I eat a berry medley or see someone drinking some green goop -- lol! Always try to wear my "big girl panties" in your honor.
My name is Matt and I am a member of the Head & Neck Cancer Forum at the Cancer Survivor Network. In 2013 I came across this post by Nicole (nkimber, in the forum). I found it to be very heartfelt and I have been reposting it back to the top of the H&N forum every January. Many H&N members were very fond of Nicole. Thank You

Intensions For 2011
After a very inspiring yoga class this afternoon, I began to think about my intentions for 2011... in some ways a little more strict than resolutions, but in some ways a little more relaxed! Instead of vowing to do something all year, and then giving up when you break a rule, I think of intentions more as something you can reflect on every day, and even make strides to improve upon them. If you don't quite realize one of your intentions on any given day, just think about how to make it true the next!
So, I wanted to share mine... open for comment or suggestions of course... maybe by throwing these out there I will do a better job of holding myself accountable to them :)
1. I intend not to be discouraged. Undoubtedly this year will bring many challenges, but I am a tough girl..... I will overcome them! I cannot let myself be discouraged, but rather take everything that comes at me and use it as a catalyst for improvement. Improvement of my health, my medical team, my daily diet and activities, my holistic healing team, and my strength.
2. I intend to show those whom I love how much they mean to me every chance I get. This experience has brought into light those of my family and friends who can be counted on, and who cannot. It is very strange blessing in disguise! I need to show those who I care about, and who care about me, how much I love them. Being there for them through these difficult times is just as important as them being there for me.
3. I intend to share my blessings with others. It may be small on some days, and large on others, but I want to do a better job of taking the blessings I have been given, and using them to help others. What does this mean? I don't know exactly, but I do know where to start. Continuing to be a positive face every time I visit the hospital, trying to put smiles on the faces of others who are going through difficult times, and finding a way to help others who are not as fortunate are a start. Hopefully this intention will blossom into something amazing over the course of 2011.
4. I intend to have increasing faith. I do have faith, but as many of you know, it is hard not to question what is happening. I intend to start each day off with a conversation with God. Hopefully this conversation brings me a better understanding of not only what is happening, but of what I need to do to realize all of my other intentions! I will keep praying that the right path comes to me :)
I have a feeling that these will evolve as the year goes on, but I will do my best to reflect upon them every day and make them come true!
I wish all of you the very best 2011... feel free to share your intentions too!!!
Lots of hugs,
Nicole
This morning I was on the way into Virginia beach with my wife and son and for some random reason I remembered an argument I had with Nicole all the way back in our junior year if high school regarding if it would be much different to live on the east coast. It seems petty and certainly extremely random but for some reason I remembered her saying that as a surfer I should make sure to go surf on the east coast before finalizing my opinion. I have know ideahow this came about in my head and how it would be relivent to anything at all, loll .
Strange part was that while chatting with my wife I randomly saw a web update in my email regarding Nicole I noticed today was the anniversary of her passing, I felt a sad calm come over me.miss you Nicole. Save a spot in the buffet line for me in heaven. I gonna be hungry when I get there if this economy docent perk up soo

Nicole's Citi Interview
We had a monthly/fun newsletter for the Citigroup LAFC. I had the fun pleasure of interviewing Nicole for the October, 2003 issue. Here is her interview, please enjoy!
Getting To Know…..Nicole Kimber:
Well the suspense is over, California has won a Governor named Arnold and the LAFC has won a charming, funny LDA named Nicole Kimber. And just to clarify, the funniest, smartest California Girl! Miss Nicole was born and raised in Ventura, California where she attended Elementary and High School. Opting to live on the “other coast”, Nicole graduated with a BBA in Marketing and BA in Computer Information Systems from St. Thomas University in Miami, FL. Nicole also has her MBA with a concentration in Finance from Rollins College in Orlando, FL. Nicole applied for a Citigroup LDA position through the career center at Rollins and was promptly contacted (without warning) the day of her graduation, landing an interview on the spot. Her first LDA rotation was in the CRS (Corporate Realty Services) area in Building A. Nicole believes that success should be the outcome of working towards something that is good, not towards something that simply stands a chance to succeed.
And Now….Kimber Trivia: Nicole’s favorite flavor of ice cream is Mint Chocolate Chip (without the chips) – that sounds tricky! Her favorite movie is anything that makes her laugh. Favorite vacation spot is anywhere in the Greek Islands. Favorite spot outside of work is the beach and favorite music is Alternative.
If Stranded On A Desert Island, Nicole would want….. a surfboard, a volleyball & her best friend.
Extra Kimber Trivia: If Nicole could have any job in the world she would want to be the Governor of California – and oh would there be lots of work to do!
Nicole was great fun. Heaven has inherited a fun, happy and positive angel!
