I met Nigel when we were both 8yrs old & I moved to Sedgeberrow where he lived. Along with many others in the village we had great times making rope swings, riding trial bikes, hanging around the flash rolls, building bonfires & my greatest memory of Nigel is when we made a horror movie in the church yard he was dracular & used red lipstick for blood ... scared us all. what a legend will be so missed by many...RIP Nigel xxx

Nigel, words cannot express how much I miss you. Our love was a bond that will never, ever fade in life and death. My heart is aching so much.
You were the love of my life and we will be together again xxxx

His Life

Nigel “Nige” Hopkins

Nigel and I first met in August 1993 when he was a builder working on a site along my road. He first caught my attention with a wolf-whistle. Took him a good month to pluck up the courage to ask me on a date but from then on we were smitten.
We got married on 1st July 1995 and it was a perfect day.
Jack Daniel was born on 17th April 1998 followed 2 years later by Max Edward born on 30th April 2000.
Nigel was never the kind of man you could stay angry with. We’d have an argument then 30 minutes later he’d crack a stupid joke and I’d be rolling around in laughter.
Our Grandson, Carter, was born on 5th December 2021 and quickly became the apple of his eye. He doted on that little man. Nigel bought a fishing rod ready for his retirement so that he could take Carter fishing in Fladbury and nip into The Anchor during Happy Hour. Sadly, he never made it to retirement.
Nigel left us in the hours of 31st October 2022 of a Fatal Cardiac Arrest :

So I remember the day I had to go to court to see my children and in my court room they told me I had to have a family member supervision to see my children I turned around and said I had no one has didn't wanna bring anyone into it then I phoned my uncle Nigel and he put his self out every other Sunday to help me so I could be with my children. I wish I could thank him so much for this and I wouldn't never forget what he has done for me. And now I see them eveey weekend and now thanks to Nigel I see them I'm so greatful.

School Days

Nigel was a person everyone will remember! We were at Prince Henry's High School together!

Nigel and I had maths in the porta cabin on the playing field, too cool for school Nigel was often under the porta cabin having a sneaky skive.

He was always polite to my mum, and she thought he was a lovely boy! Nigel had the ability to speak to anyone regardless of age, race or difference, what a guy.

Years later I laughed as after desperate to get out of school, I discovered he now worked there!
