Kechi baby,

They say time heals all wounds, I am waiting to see the truth of the statement.
You were a gem, beloved and precious. I know you are in a better place but will give anything to be able to tell you how much your friendship, nay, sisterhood meant to me.

To the family......it is well. She taught us how to love, we will continue to honour her memory!

Rest in peace, Nkechi. The Book of Wisdom speaks eloquently in your case thus, “But the righteous, though they die early, will be at rest. For old age is not honored for length of time, or measured by number of years; but understanding is gray hair for anyone, and a blameless life is ripe old age. There were some who pleased God and were loved by him, and while living among sinners were taken up. They were caught up so that evil might not change their understanding or guile deceive their souls. For the fascination of wickedness obscures what is good, and roving desire perverts the innocent mind. Being perfected in a short time, they fulfilled long years; for their souls were pleasing to the Lord, therefore he took them quickly from the midst of wickedness. Yet the peoples saw and did not understand, or take such a thing to heart, that God's grace and mercy are with his elect, and that he watches over his holy ones (Wisdom 4:7-14).”

Kweksy Nwanyiobioma,

Today is exactly 3 years gone, when on a Saturday morning you left Somtochukwu and I regardless of my plea, entreaties, appeal that you should tarry. I've struggled to be stable ever since till this moment. My emotions run riot, tears drop from eyes uncontrollably every now and then, can't stop wondering why it had to be so. Yet it is what it is... We have totally submitted and are entirely grateful to GOD.

Somtochukwu's expectation is that you'll soon return from your trip!

Continue to rest with GOD in Heaven and look after us from GOD's kingdom.

We love you so dearly.

That day was the first time I would ever see daddy cry. He wept uncontrollably even as numerous folks gathered around in our sitting room. Despite Mummy's health, he threw himself at her weeping as he disclosed the saddest news of a lifetime to her. Mummy was confused more as what could break Nduweze, as she fondly called him, down. However, the news became clear and the entire atmosphere became very sorrowful.

You lived a life of love and compassion. You made life appear very simple. Many times I find myself talking to you however, wishing that you are around to respond, joke and laugh at various mind bugging issues just as we used to. And I ask again, who will hail me and cheer me up even when I'm most depressed, who can the shoe fit?

We will live on for your sake, because we love you. Your memories keep us stronger. Mummy and Daddy are forever greatful to God for blessing them and the entire family with a daughter like you.

Our grand father made no mistake at your birth, in a most symbolic occasion, when he pronounced that you came from God to Daddy and Mummy, thus your beautiful name Nkechiyerem.

And it pleased God to have you back, to be with him, to radiate heaven with joy, love and happiness.

We love and miss you and continue to miss you, but with total submission to the will of God the almighty father.

Nkechi nwanyi oma, my neighbour turned sister, It took me two years to write a tribute for you cos your death gave me a real shock, the event of that dark saturday morning is still so clear in my memory, seeing you breath your last, I have not been able to get over it. I miss you so much, within a short time of knowing you, it was so glaring that you had a heart of gold. My heart breaks a thousand pieces anytime I see your husband, honey like you always call him or your little angel Somtochukwu, cos I know the void your death created in their lives cannot easily be filled, even the thought of what your parents and family have also had to bear since your demise.
I have so many good memories of you to treasure a lifetime.
I had just made two dresses for you, you never even got to wear one of them. You called me in the office some days before you went to be with lord that your were making ofe akwu (Banga soup) . I had to stop by on my way back from work late that night to pick my own share of it and it was still in my freezer when you passed, guess what Nke , I still ate it but didn't get a chance to compliment your cooking. It's still a struggle for me to go over to your house knowing that I wont see you there.
You were truly an epitome of kindness, the day we moved in, you called me late in the afternoon to tell me not to bother to cook because you had made lunch for everyone, your thoughtfulness really touched me and I knew I had found a sister, and even when it was getting late and you knew that we were still busy you sent the food with a bottle of wine. You were indeed a sweet soul, an angel .
It hurts so bad but I know that you are resting in His bossom.

We all miss you dearly but I find solace in knowing that you are in a better place, where there is no sickness or pain. We love you so much but God loves you more and we will not sorrow like them that have no hope. You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race , you have kept faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
Sleep on angel, sleep on eze nwanyi be Opara( as my husband fondly called you) sleep on Nkechi nwanne m.

Nkem, Kechi, Nk Baby, my darlyn sister and friend like no other. Its been exactly two years that you went home to be with your Maker, two years without your sunny smile and infectious laughter! Two years without anyone to call and sing me our signature tune "Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy, Omo Ali", still missing you dear sister. Sometimes I wonder how Darlyn Moi and Our Princess are able to carry on, but then I console myself with the believe that "The Lord must actually be their strength". Rest on sweet soul, rest in the bosom of your Maker, wrapped in the prayers of the saints and your Mother Mary whom you revered so much. Adieu once again dear sister and friend. Love evergreen .

YOU LEFT US A GOOD MEMORY

The hour of death cannot be forecast, and when we say this, we imagine this hour would be in a long distant future. We never thought we would be thinking about Nkechi, as a memory.

The void created by the sudden death of someone as beloved as Nkechi is extremely hard to grasp. Words cannot describe how much she is missed. Certainly, Nkechi had so much left to teach, so much to give and so much to share with my brother, Ik and their lovely daughter, Somto.

Her courage, determination and sense of humour are qualities we would always cherish, and when we look for Nkechi, we can look to the stars at night, and into the eyes and hearts of all those she left behind and find a little piece of her. She will live on forever.

Adieu International Madam!!

KWEKSY
The Scripture says that, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from GOD.” - Proverbs 18:22. This indeed is my testimony.
KWEKSY, I found you, you became my wife and GOD favoured us greatly.
In all the experiences we shared whilst you were in this world, we stayed FAITHFUL to each other and to GOD. Our love for each other defied all permutations, formulas and/or equations and was renewed, strengthened and reinvigorated each day that passed.
You make the earth move. You totally rock my world. You were and still an Angel.
Even in my present trauma, I cannot but THANK GOD for the privilege to have had you as my wife and Somtochukwu’s mummy, mummy.
KWEKSY, now that you’ve passed on to GOD’s Glory, am not sure how you intend Somtochukwu and I to carry on here in this world! We always depended on you. So we are waiting to hear from you on the way forward. Please talk to me!!
My crying and wailing seem unending. Sorrowing for the agony your sudden demise has exposed Somtochukwu and I to, in one breath, and on the other, tears of joy based on my firm belief, faith and conviction that you have transitioned to a higher and eternal glory in the kingdom of GOD; as we recourse to the Scripture which says; “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” – Philippians 1:21. Clearly, Heaven’s gain is our loss!!!
GOD, who gave you to us have called you to HIS Glory. I do not have the locus at all to ask GOD why but have submitted totally to HIS Will. Thus, Somtochukwu and I sing;
“When peace, like a river attendeth our way, when sorrows, like seabillows roll, whatever our Lot, Thou has taught us to say:
It is well, it is well, with our souls, it is well, it is well with our souls, with our souls, it is well, it is well, with our souls.”
And it is well, it is well, with Kweksy’s soul, with your soul, it is well, it is well with your soul.”
KWEKSY, I love you, I’ll always Love you.
Somtochukwu loves you as she continues to echo Mummy, Mummy!
KWEKSY, NNWANYIOBIOMA, may GOD in HIS infinite mercy and faithfulness grant you peaceful rest in HIS Kingdom, Amen.

Nkechi, you have played out your God given role and have gone back to our Heavenly Father. We will continue to remember you in our thoughts and memories. Good bye, good night.
June 7, 2018
My dearest Kiki, words can't express the deep sense of loss, pain and sadness that I feel at your passing. It's simply too much to bear, very suffocating indeed. I have tried to make sense if it but to no avail. I am only left with memories, fond memories of our days in Lagos, at the blessed sacrament and mother Mary's grotto at our lady of Fatima Aguda, our gistings about so many things. Hmm Kiki, you are simply unforgettable. I spoke with you last in October 2017, when we reminisced about God's faithfulness in your life. We also chatted on Facebook towards the end of March 2018. Who would have thought that would be my last conversation with you. You are God's property, just as your name states. Who am I to question God. He says that in all things that we should give thanks to him. I thank God for the privilege and honor of having met you. I thank him for our friendship.I thank him for the wonderful memories we shared, and mostly for the love that you had for him and those that came in contact with you You are terribly missed Kiki. Continue to rest in the bosom of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ and May the Holy spirit continue to comfort your husband, parents, siblings, and us your friend's, in the mighty name of Jesus
