My Dear Sister in Heaven
I sit here and ponder how very much
I’d like to talk with you today
There are so many things
That we didn’t get to say
I know how very much you care for me
And how much I care for you
And each time that I think of you
I know that you’ll miss me too
An angel came, took you by the hand, and said
Your place was ready in Heaven, far above
And you had to leave behind
All those you dearly loved
You had so much to live for
You had so much to do
It still seems impossible
That God will take you this soon
Though your life on earth is past
In Heaven it starts anew
You’ll live for all eternity
Just as God has promised you
And though you’ve walked through Heaven’s gate
We are never far apart
For every time I think of you
You are right here, deep within my heart
In memory of a loving sister...Farewell, ezi nwanne.
The Meeting That Never Was
Who was more privileged than I?
Blessed with a sis as loving as you
The times we had, forever to be cherished
Basking in glory as an apple of His eye
Remain a shining star to look up to
Now that our meeting never reached
How can this tear fountain run dry?
With the promise so close to due
How perfect, had it been as we wished
No goodbyes said, in that twinkling of an eye
Yet, praised be He who deemed your rest as due
Now that our meeting never reached
Should I smile or should I cry?
Smile at the good life that did accrue
Or cry at the bond that has been breached
Alas, tomorrow still we’ll meet by and by
Where you are with life anew
Then of your life, grace will be preached
In memory of a loving sister...Farewell, ezi nwanne.
