It was with great shock and pain in our hearts we received the sudden demise of LATE LION NNAEMEKA VICTOR OHAERI, MJF, NLCF, the 38th Sitting President of the Calabar Canaan City Lions Club for the 2020/2021 Lions Service Year.

He is best described as an ICON OF SERVICE, whose slogan for his service year as a Club President is "service is our life force" which he exemplified by the various service activities he undertook in the areas of Sight Preservation, Hunger Relief, Diabetes, Paedeatric Cancer; as a member of the Lions Club and more recently the construction of the E-Library Complex at Calabar which he spear headed.

He was a Leader par excellence, Charismatic in the discharge of his duties, a great Philanthropist, who carries a peaceful calmness around him, a team player with high ethical standards who had positive impact on the life of friends, colleagues, the young, the elderly and humanity at large. He was a true example of a Lion who roars and rises up to serve whenever the need arises.
Late Lion Nnaemeka Victor Ohaeri MJF, NLCF gave his time, resources and means for the cause of service to his community and the less privileged.

He has left a Vacuum and raised a standard too high to fill but we are consoled in the fact that his Legacy lives on as shown in the impartation he had on people's Life through service. Indeed we have lost an icon of this generation, we mourn his death and sincerely wish he didn’t have to answer the call to transition at such an young age.

We will surely miss him, the community would miss him, the Lions Club at large would miss him and his charismatic style of leadership.

It is our prayers that the Almighty God in his infinite mercies would console the family over this unimaginable loss and grant his soul eternal rest in his bossom.

Adieu to our Pacesetting Club President
Adieu to our Capacity 38th Club President.

Yours in Service:
Lion Felicita Opata NLCF
Club Secretary

Nnaemeka “Utara-man”, you will always be in our hearts and memories. You were exceptional in academics, in sports and in the service of others. As kids in secondary school, we knew you to be a friend who skillfully interacted with everyone. As an adult man, your sense of family tradition were evident to anyone who observed you closely. Our thoughts and prayers are with Patricia, your kids and the Ohaeri family. We pray for strength, grace and favor upon them. May your memory forever be a blessing!

My Great and amazing Lion, A great and mighty young man with valor.

I admire you from a distance due to your carriage and awesome works impacting service in a dynamic way.

Words failed me and alot of us, when I received that terrible call that faithful morning, concerning your passing unto Glory, with great shock and doubt in my heart, I rebuked such news immediately.

But when I arrived at the hospital and saw with my own eyes, seeing you sleeping so peacefully on the hospital bed with a smile. I screamed that you are not Dead oo, you are just asleep, let us all Pray, you will wake up. But No, our creator needs you more.

Your kind is so Rare. You have left a great gap and legacy, with sweet memories that will fade in a long while.

You are so greatly missed by all of us. Rest well in the Lord's bossom. Rest well our capacity Lions Club President. We miss you so much!!!

it was about 3am when my phone rang on the 24th of April 2021 and was informed that you are no more...

Hmmmmm.. What killed you my dear friend!!! but we spoke on Saturday, you reassured me of the Special guests for the District Governor's presentation, and how you had gotten their consent, and we would meet when i come for Late Lion Helen Ogar's burial, we had also planned to visit the E-library complex you were building as a signature project ...

Why the rush? You didnt wait to take me to visit the complex by your self? or for the commissioning of the project like we discussed... Ahh Nnaemeka, this was not the plan.....My Chairman Fundraising committee, you have left me in the middle of nowhere ; you had everything sorted out , where do I go from here?

Nnaemeka, see your beautiful wife and lovely kids, who did you leave them for? This is still a rude shock, it is well....

For the brief period you lived on earth, you will be greatly remembered, you were a good man, a gentleman par excellence, peace loving, calm and focused, you will forever be missed .

We all love you but God loves you more.
Sleep on great soldier of service till we meet again

My dearest Emeka
People live their lifetime experiencing human kindness
Some have the privilege of being the kind humans
But you were an angel given to human race, and it was my privilege to have known one angel in my life time.
I hear your voice telling me not to cry, and your laughter that could brighten any gloomy day accompanying your words.
You fought every odds that came your way, you rose above negativity, you stood tall in prestige and now you have earned your wings in the heavens my dear angel.
I will miss you forever my dearest friend, my paddy, but we made lots of memories to keep me thinking of you until all days are ended.
Rest in Power love.

It is difficult to match the state of being dead with a towering personality like you, NNAEMEKA VICTOR OHAERI, one of the key staff of Zenith Bank Plc, Cross River Zone, the man we affectionately call the "Ballon D'or' of the zone.
Here was a man of superlatively high standards, complete commitment, team player, hardworking and boundless energy for whatever task he undertook. He was the sort of guy who hardly ever called in sick. He never dodged a responsibility, never refused to take on a hard job that needed to be done. What he believed in, he believed with his heart and soul. He was the kind of professional you could take with you to a corporate knife-fight and to a crucial meeting with the highly placed individuals and he would excel at both. Nnaemeka was a pillar and not just a pillar, he was a Major pillar in Cross River zone of Zenith Bank Plc. Your death has left us devastating and we are already missing your absence in the office. Our solace is that you are resting in the bossom of the creator-The Almighty God. Rest in Peace my dear brother and colleague till we meet to part no more amen.

Journey on Sweet Nnaemeka.

I lost myself in tears -in a public bus- when the news of your translation was broken to me. Then I remembered you, a very happy soul that dislike sadness. I immediately wiped the tears and went down memory of some of our encounters. The Predominant smiles your face is known came flashing. I then realised you are on a Journey, a very sweet Journey of Soul, not dead. Sweet Souls like you do not die. You have achieved inerasable foot print on this world called earth but we would have loved you stayed a little longer.

Smiling Nnaemeka! - Honest, Humble, Simple and Hard-working. I will miss your physical presence. You will however live in my heart and be remembered forever my friend.

Rest in Peace Dear Cousin Nnaemeka!
I can’t believe that you are really gone now, seems like it’s all just a dream. I can’t imagine life without you. You touched our hearts with love and cares, your love will always be here to stay. We will miss you, but the memories of your life will remain a treasure. Even though we loved you best, we could not make you stay. Our hearts are filled with so much pain, God loved you more, and there was no shame. Your memories, we will keep a flow. Rest dear cousin with peace of mind, your memories will live on through.

For everything there is an appointed season, and a time for everything under heaven. A time for sharing, and a time for caring, time for loving, a time for giving, a time for remembering, a time for parting and you have made everything beautiful in its time. For everything you do remains forever.

Rest In Peace

Nna, thank you for furnishing this earth with your presence. Even though short, it was quite impactful. Many people have asked me if I know you. I'm proud to say, you are my blood.

We are sad you didn't stay long enough to achieve your dreams and aspirations. We are sad, your wife and children will find it difficult to continue life without you, your mother and siblings will never get over this loss. We, your cousins are heartbroken you have to leave us.

I cry as I write this. Why? Because you never got to read my book. I never got to say how proud I am of you. I thought we still had time but time waits for no one. You are one that parents point to to tell their children, "Be likememory.Thank you for being a good example.

Nna, rest in peace. We miss you. You will always be a beautiful memory. You are loved. You will always be remembered.

You were a big brother to me, when I needed help during my NYSC in Calabar you took me into your home, I will always be grateful for such kindness and also to God for knowing you and having you as a friend, and a brother.

You will be greatly missed, brother. My prayers are with your family. We will continue to keep you alive in our hearts. May God give us all the fortitude to bear this painful, irreparable loss, and your family the strength to continue to stay strong.

To say I was shocked when I got the news of your passing would be the understatement of the century. How???

My husband and I had met you through a mutual client of yours and you had indicated interest you wanted your son to attend one of the Jesuit secondary schools. Trish reached out to ask for guidance and your noy started coaching classes. He smashed the exams and I remember your message thanking me for my help. Now, what???

I was burying my own sister on the same day you passed and had to pinch myself when I saw your body at the morgue with your family and colleagues all cried and prayed out.

This is hard to take.

Trish, I dont know what to say to you. But I lift you and the family up in prayers and ask the God of all consolation to take over and do what only He can do.

Rest well Emeka.

There are no words Nnaemeka:

There are no words to explain the reality of your demise to Mama...

There are no words to help Adanne and Odi come to terms with this premature transition...

There are no words of prayers your three sons have not groaned interceding for your return...

There are no words spoken or written that will unravel the mystery of your early eternal sleep to your wife...

There are no words to describe your positive impact and impartation in the life of your friends, colleagues, Lions Club and humanity...

Alas we take succour that your selfless humanitarian legacies lives beyond time; for there are no words to replace you Nnaemeka.

Rest now my friend
