We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear sister, Mrs. Sylvia Thusi. She was real pillar of strength and an excellent Nursing Sister especially to our dear brother Solomon.
The Thusi and Mogoba families travelled a long journey of faith together from the year we were accepted as Candidates in the Ministry of the Methodist Church in Mamelodi and Andries Street, Pretoria. And then proceeded to the John Wesley Theological College in Fort Hare, Alice in the early 1970’s. Later we served in different parts of our wide Connexion.
One of our visits to the Temba Methodist Church in Hammanskraal was an unforgettable experience as we were gifted with a beautiful, bright Bedspread that we used for many years. Up to this day we remember sister Sylvia & brother Solly Thusi with great fondness.
When Mrs. Thusi was the National President of the Methodist Women’s Manyano, we met in many services during my term as the Presiding Bishop of our Church. Her leadership, strength, spiritual guidance, compassion and selflessness left an indelible mark in Women’s Manyano.
Today we are celebrating the life of Ma Thusi who dedicated her service to the Methodist Church of Southern Africa, especially the Temba branch.
May her gracious soul rest in peace and rise in glory.
Our dear friend Solomon and the Family be comforted that Ma Thusi has run a full race and kept the faith. And now there is waiting for her the victory price of being put right with God.
Lala Ngoxolo Mama wethu.
Tribute by Rev. Dr. Stanley Mogoba, Mrs. Johanna Mogoba & Family Former Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa
We never had the honour of meeting you - but I am blessed to have your daughter and granddaughter in our lives. And it is through them that we know, from them directly- and their character that you would've been someone that we all would've not only liked but also admired. Rest in peace - in the knowledge that you were loved, will be missed and that your legacy will live on in Busi and Owami. Regards Noeleen, Samantha and Paige
