Learning the value of hard work at an early age,  Nora worked various jobs and became a hard working cheerful employee wherever she went.   She lost her mother ate age 53 to luekemia.  She eventually met and after a long courtship married Raul G Ovalle.   They married and settled in a home in San Marcos.   They became parents of a son, Rene in April 1962, and late  had a daughter, Belinda in August 1965.   

Nora was born Leonor Urrutia,   the 2nd child of Epimenio Urrutia and Carolina Lopez Urrutia.  Siblings are the late Pauline Mendoza,  Martha Acevedo, and Emma Briones.    She was born on a  family farm in Redwood, TX on March 16th, 1933.  She was a happy and fun loving young girl and has fond memories of family and friends in her early life.     As a child she and her family traveled to find farm /crop work for the family.  Often she and her family traveled to various towns and multiple states to find work for the family's survival.
