Just popping in to say hello. It was a lovely monarch that kept Peaches and I on path this Easter afternoon. She'll be four this month.
I have a butterfly egg of yours on our wall shelf. She asked today where it came from since I just put it out yesterday... I told her about you.

Wish you were here,
Bridget

Neil and Memorial Day

May 27, 2011

Spending the afternoon with YOU and Neil Diamond remembering the concerts that we attended and the GREAT Memorial weekend that we spent in San Luis Obispo. Some genealogy research but mostly on the beach with the cd's and sharing our thoughts, BBQing and watching the sea !!!

April 22, 2011

Funny that both Dad and I married Giants Fans. Blech!

Im thinking of you often. I had to buy Emily a Giants Tshirt. I guess that is HER team, too. Boy, she missed out on your laugh. But not me, and for this I am grateful!

Loving you ,

Opening Day

March 31, 2011

Watching LA/gnats game rememberng when we went to opening day with Dick and his girl of the week. Filling Dick's pockets with beer because they never checked the blind guy! Dodgers won and one of the idiot gnats' fans cold cocked me. You threw you beer at him, boy "that fixed him" !!

Love those memories...............

Peaches Says Hi!

March 28, 2011

Please look down on us as we tackle the end of the twos and move toward the threes.

She's having trouble sleeping in her own bed and we want her to have good dreams,

Thanks, NJB

(check in on your hubby, too, okay?!)

XOXO

St. Patrick's Day

March 15, 2011

Geez!  All of the great ones that we shared. San Francisco, at least 3 times. Can't say that they were the best, but they stand out in my memory. Just the two of us "prowling" the city and singing at most of the places that we went to. As I always said, For a person of Latino descent, You sure could sing the Irish way.

I miss you so much !

NJB's butterflies

February 12, 2011

During the 2nd year in the Los Gatos nursing home I took NJB to a butterfly release in downtown Los Gatos. Each participant could release a numbered butterfly that we could trace to it's destination (place where it was found). NJB's was found in Carmel,CA. I guess that they are still looking for mine. She had a lot of fun checking for it and others. Most of them were found in Santa Cruz at Naural Bridges. I remember telling her that ours traveled together and that hers ate mine when she got tired of it. Some females!!!???!!! I'll bet that she is still smiling about that !

Annual Butterfly Migration

February 12, 2011

 hi Norma,

I thought I would invite your spirit to Natural Bridges State Park today.

I think angels get in free.

XOXOXO,

Bridget

California State Parks invites you to fly, swim, waddle, walk, bike or drive to Natural Bridges State Beach for the annual Migration Festival, a celebration to honor the journey of whales, butterflies, birds and the many creatures that travel. On Saturday, February 12, from 11:00am to 4:00pm, activities at the park will focus on the science and wonder of migratory animals from creatures that travel far including gray whales and monarch butterflies, to those with an annual journey of less than a mile, like the California newt.

The event features live music by the nature-loving 5M's Band, engaging guest speakers, a chance to learn about migratory animals with community groups hosting a variety of activity stations, active docent-led games for kids, theatrical skits, and hands-on art projects and crafts. To end the day of migration fun and games, the now-famous free habitat-cake will be served at the conclusion of the event.

The festival started in 1988 when Regional Park Interpreter Elizabeth Hammack noted that at the same time the monarchs were departing from their winter home in the eucalyptus grove, many other creatures were also “on the move.” Gray whales travel to the warm waters of Baja California far away from their summer home in the Bering Sea, elephant seals come ashore to birth their pups, and soon, swallows will be winging-it along the Pacific Flyway on a return flight from their winter home in South America. “There’s just so much going on to see, appreciate and celebrate,” notes Hammack. The event is educational and interpretive in nature, allowing visitors to gain knowledge and understanding of the animals that travel among our parks and through the Santa Cruz area. “We hope visitors come away with a spark of curiosity and a desire to learn more about how to protect these species and their habitat,” Hammack adds.

You can purchase an inexpensive picnic which supports education programs at the park or bring your own. A day use parking pass is $10; the event is free. Natural Bridges State Beach is located at the end of West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz. More information is available by calling (831) 423-4609 or visit us on the web at www.parks.ca.gov.
