Norma, from the time I met her in fourth grade was always a quiet trustworthy friend. I will always remember her as a special hometown friend even if we did not see each other often. May our Savior welcome you home. My love and prayers are extended to your family.

My mom was an amazing, incredible person who loved everyone unconditionally. She modeled her life by what Jesus commanded: love, humility, generosity, compassion, joy, hope, bold courage, mercy and grace. Here is a poem I apparently wrote to her around 1977 when I was 17: (I found my handwritten note to her on a piece of yellow paper): ‘Mother Divine, Mother of Mine’ Mother defined: ‘..a female parent, a mother in authority, source, origin.. of invention.’ Mother of Earth: the garden, the beginning, the soil that nurtures, changing, the wind that sings, the hills that tremble and trees that sway, fertile crescent’s rich land ray Reaching, breaking into grains, Rushing with the rains, flowing into arteries- the rivers, reaching the ocean- the womb, to multiply, sea life raising waves, folding, exploding, softly touching the beach’s Sands. The cycle continues, revolves and grows; The mother of Earth knows. Mother of Mine: gave me shelter nine months and on, Her first born A Mobile one With sunny days, Stormy ones too Life created by God, MT and you Embracing and raising, suffering for Moni The eyes that watched me Poured out beauty: strong colors, tears and screams Laughing, hoping, sometimes sighing YOU saved this life one night from dying Your strength has been an inspiration Of heart felt spiritual liberation My special thanks for my creation To God, MT and From whose womb From within I entered life ; My mother I love forever and ever
