Logan City Water Department

July 16, 2020
In the late 1988 I moved to Logan as I had recently started a new job at Nucor Steel I moved into studio apartment a short distance from my Grandma, Marsha & Kami I remember coming over & helping a little with a few things but it was Uncle Robert & I’m sure many others that helped far more than I did. So I remember driving to work on the swing shift 3-11Pm one day & thinking it’s time to turn the sprinklers on I must have noticed others watering there lawns. Well I believe it must of been about this time my grandma is thinking the same thing because the next morning when I went over I discovered she had turned them on & as the lines filled up she made her way back upstairs the problem was there was a pencil size drain plug that the cap hadn’t been put back on from the fall draining so when I arrived some 16 hours later her basement now had 2 or 3 inches of water in it I shut the water off put the plug on that was sitting on a shelf called Uncle Robert & went home I don’t believe there was anything I could do at the time. Of coarse I told grandma about the situation probably ask her if she was wanting a swimming pool & if I should leave the water on, I know not the nicest grandkid after arriving back to my place I decided I would call grandma up pretending to be the man at the Logan City Water department ( Mrs Perry I don’t know what’s going on over there but my gauges indicate a heavy drain on the city water supply and if she continued I was fearful that there wouldn’t be enough water for the other people in the city. I’m going to Hell I know or at minimum a desert with no water. I did shortly after go over & confess to my grandma what I had done but I’m not sure it gave her any relief. She put up with a lot having me around & I hope she forgives me for my teasing
