His Life

Mr. Adams was born Monday, March 23, 1925, in Chambers County, Alabama, the son of the late Lizzie G. Stripling and William J. Adams. He attended Fredonia Grammar School, Five Points High School and graduated from Atlanta Law School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman and moved to Atlanta in the 1940’s. Mr. Adams served as Deputy Clerk of Courts of Calhoun, Georgia. He was a licensed real estate agent and owned Lenox Dodge until 1970. He was pinned and saluted by veterans in Sarasota for his military service. His daughter, Joan, taught him to fly. He was active in church wherever he lived, belonging to the West Baptist Church and Wieuca Baptist Church in Atlanta, where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday school. Mr. Adams had a lifelong passion for cars, enjoyed gardening. He was active until the end. He was described as having many friends and was a great neighbor. He loved sport teams.
 

Survivors include his first wife, Eleanor Strickland Adams; his son, Norman L. Adams, Jr. and wife Cindy of Fredonia; his daughter Joan Adams Jacob; grandchildren, Matt Adams, Shelby Adams and Chase Jacob; nieces and nephews, Brad, Patsy, Cathy, and Trannie. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Horace, and Cliff and his second wife Martha Claire Swartz Adams.
