SPECIALIST NORMAN CAIN III, 22 MOUNT MORRIS - Specialist Nor-man Cain III, 22, of Mount Morris, a former Freeport resident, gave his life in proud military service to his country Sunday, March 15, 2009, in the Nangarhar pro-vince in eastern Afghanistan. Norman was a member of Company D, 1st Batt-alion, 178th Infantry Woodstock. Norman joined the National Guard on July 27, 2007. Norman graduated from Freeport High School in 2006 and was a member of NJROC. Norman was born Oct. 23, 1986, in Madison, Wis., to Norman L. and Lisa (Wise) Cain Jr. On July 3, 2008, Norman married the love of his life, Brigette Peterson, in Mount Morris. Norman attended Highland College Auto Mechanics School. Norman enjoyed working on cars, playing darts and especially picking on his brother and sister. His greatest joy in his life was his family. Norman is survived his wife, Brigette of Mount Morris; his parents, Norman L. (Tina) Cain of Ridott, and his mother, Lisa (Mark) Otto of Freeport; his son, Toryn Cain; his stepdaughter, Fallon Spielman; paternal grandmother, JoAnn Cain of Ridott; maternal grandmother, Pamela Wise of Freeport; his maternal great-grandmothers, Delta Mooney and Reva Wise; brothers, Zachery Otto, Michael and Andrew Bower; sisters, Breeana Otto and Courtney Bower; and his nephew Ayden Shores. Norman was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Norman Cain Sr.; paternal great-grandparents; and maternal great-grandfather.
