Dear Jide (A.k.a Baba 70),
Today would have been your 42nd birthday!
It is really hard to believe you are no longer with us here.
We had plans of celebrating our 30th anniversary of admission into our prestigious alma mater (GCI) together, but death punctured that plan.
Really, we had it without you but we observed a minute silence for you and other soldiers that have gone to the world beyond, in remembrance of your contribution to the alumni set.

You will forever be remembered for your vibrant contributions and ever-bubbling spirit during your short time here.

We love you but Jesus loves you more.

Continue to rest in peace brother!

I received the rude shocking news of your demise through your beloved Young Girl (wife) at the dawn of 6th March 2021!
I wished it was a dream or hallucination, but Alas! It was a reality!
The memories of our moments together during secondary school days at Government College Ibadan, and the little time shared when we reconnected at the alumni floods my heart.
You were an irresistible jolly fellow, always bubbly and fun to be with!
My heart aches and uncontrollable tears flows down as I watched your little son cry profusely as you were committed to the mother earth!
Hmmm, may your gentle soul continue to find repose and succor in the bosom of your Creator. May the good Lord keep and increase the family you left behind.

Good Night Jide (A.K.A Baba 70)

Dear Lord, bless the family left behind by this departed soul. Grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. So, this is how a man's journey ends? I met Jide only last week via Whatsapp when he called to request for my service. I have been out of town and we were to meet on Saturday 6th March to finalize the scope of his requirements. He still called on the 5th to confirm the meeting but I never heard from him again, only to see this!!!
Death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? It is well. Rest in Peace. Waoh! He was just starting life. May God bless us all with longevity in prosperity.

I remember Jide Adeniji back in Government College Ibadan days with his very close pal, Rasheed Epe (also of blessed memory). He was a lively young boy at the time. When I joined the set alumni, we linked up again after about 13 years of leaving secondary school, and life as an adult was quite different because we had all matured. His passion for the alumni association was unflinching.

Recently after one of our Ibadan Chapter meetings, he spoke so fondly about his late friend, Rasheed Epe, and sounded like he really missed him; little did we know it would soon be his turn to be spoken about in the past tense and missed because he was no more.

Jide, your life was snuffed out of you by the cold hands of death at your prime. It is sad, it is unfortunate, but we cannot hassle with God.

I pray that God supports your family in your absence.

Adieu, my friend and brother!

Rest in the bosom of the lord.
