Jide, what a way to go!

It has still not dawned on me that I will not hear your soft-spoken voice again. And that the jokes we shared on all and sundry are gone for good.
But regardless of what has happened and from which it is nigh impossible to recover, I shall always have fond memories of you.
I've never known anyone imbued with the concept of justice and fairness like you did.
You were the heart and soul of many a meeting. Your smile was infectious and melted hearts, left, right and centre.
May your soul rest in perfect peace in the bosom of Our Maker.

Adieu, my friend and brother!

Jide, I hesitated writing a tribute due to the shock and disbelief. I felt and wished as though this wasn’t real but it is a fact, that you are now resting in eternal glory. We were kids together and hoped that we’d be old men together as well, but God knows best. We shared so many glorious memories together from secondary school and beyond. As distance and time never separated us, so will your passing never erase these memories of your person. You were a great friend, brother, confidant and the utmost unifier. Your laugh was infectious, your kindness unparalleled and your humility and sincerity were admirable..You will be greatly missed but never forgotten. We spoke at length while you were in the hospital but nothing was suggestive of an early departure. May the Lord fill the void you’ve left and May he comfort your kids. Sun re O!

Dad, you were my rock, we used to share so much fun and laughter. You had so much banter that it was delirious. You were someone I could always rely on no matter the weather. Every day I think why? Why did you have to leave us but what gets me through is you are in a better place. I will always love you with all my heart. Until we meet again Dad rest in eternal peace. x

I am still in shock and disbelief. You were a source of moral support and inspiration for many of us. Rest in peace, in assurance that your sojourn on this earth was not in vain and you live on in the hearts of multitude you have touched. We feel very fortunate to have known you and will continue to pray for your gentle soul and the family bearing this huge loss.

Dear Jide.
I still can’t believe you’re not on this earth anymore. It was a total shock to us when we heard you had passed away. At least you are pain free now but you will be sorely missed by all that knew you. Our children grew up as good friends together and it was a joy to have had you in our lives. I’m so saddened for your family. I pray for Kylie, Anton and Nell to have their pain eased over time. You were a great dad to them and I know you’re very proud of them.
R.I.P. dear Jide

All our thoughts and prayers to your family from our family. Xx

Jide I can’t believe I didn’t get chance to talk to you in hospital, we only exchanged texts. I was looking forward to a conversation with you. You was a fabulous dad to our children and will be sadly missed by everyone. Always happy and laughing, this is how I’ll remember you! Rest in peace until we meet again. Lots of love Helen. Xxx

Jide Jide, such a shock. You had so many plans and I never imagined you would be gone just like that. Still spoke to you on Saturday and you were hopeful about the treatments being given to you. I know there is no more pain or sorrow, just peace. It is well my easy going friend. Will miss your jists and laughs. Rest in peace Jide.

Ah Jide, the last time I saw you was in London 13 years ago.
We "gisted" far into the night about our respective fathers and all their exploits.
It was like we were back again at Akoka.
Jide may your soul awaken unto joyful activity in the eternal service of God Almighty. May you receive help and strength on your way back home. Amen.

Jide was a loving and caring friend. We met during the BRF years. He was SSA Audit while I was in Education. He was diligent and loyal. He visited me once in my house in Streatham and gave me a very useful advise when I was thinking of what to do. The Covid-19 made I’d impossible for us to see often since then. I cherish his memory so much! May his soul rest in peace and may God console his loved ones.

Ever ebullient, ever gregarious, there's never a dull moment with you. Words failed me to express my reaction to the sudden and unexpected news of your demise. I still cannot believe I will never hear the sound of your cheerful and amiable banters again. Rest in peace, my dear friend, until we meet to part no more.

Jide, where are you? It feels like yesterday, we talked, But no more...
My Aburo, my colleague, but above all, my dear friend....
I criy, I sigh, and I keep asking why?
You are being missed...
You are now in the mist...
In the midst of angels no doubt..
Our shouts, to bother you no more...
Jide this, Jide that...
All that spat..
My friend...
So so sad....
Rest in peace Jide.....
                   Rest in peace...

Your sudden departure sent shiver down my spine. Since I’ve known you, moments shared have been full of humor and positivities. Your words of guidance have been very instrumental and I’ve never regretted any of the times we spent together.
Even though we would have yearn for more of your presence, God Almighty knows best and has decided to keep you in His bossom.
Continue to rest in the bossom of God, Amen!

It’s been a week I lost you EGBON MI.
it’s been a week I lost my BLOOD
EGBON MI, your untimely death is a big blow to us all and i'm yet to come to terms with the brutal fact that you're no more; I wish you had given me the chance to take one last glance at your face before you fly away like a dove

Rest in peace EGBON MI

This is too difficult to take, Too Painful to accept and at moments like this, I question why God would allow certain things happen.
We spoke, You gave me assignments and told me you wanted to spend that weekend resting. Never knew it was going to be an Eternal Rest.
Thank You for all the times we shared, they are now even more precious to me. Thank you for how you helped me grow as an individual and a business.
Thank You for your counsels and persistent check-ups.

There are no words to describe the relationship we shared. First as Client to Professional Service Provider, then it grew to Brotherly Association and finally to Father and Son.

This is hard to take

We had plans to hit town after lockdown...
But we did hit town during lockdown, you were one of very few people who made up my support bubble. And that was you, always ready and willing to lend a helping hand, and support those you knew were in need.
It's so sad that I could not be there for you during your time of need, a word or two, am sure would go a long way, as we used to..
Still locked down, not going to hit town.
  1. My main buddy's no longer around....
