Thinking of you again today, Uncle Tunde. A great legend has gone. A loving, caring, and stern Uncle has passed on. You are a lot of things to several people; A Husband, a Father, a Doctor, a Mentor and a Pastor but above all you are indeed a child of God. Your impact in my life is immeasurable and I will forever be grateful. We will shed tears that you have gone, but we will smile because you’ve lived a fulfilled life. We will close our eyes to mourn, but afterwards we will keep it opened to see your legacies live on. We may have sleepless nights to come, but we will awake and continue to cherish your memories. Sleep on and continue to rest in your Saviour’s bosom.

My Revd E.O Sanya- you actually lived a proverbial fulfilled life of an exemplary Christian which I did not know until the 11th day of April, 2021. You sharpened & shaped my life & home Spiritually, Physically, Financially, Maritally, Psychologically, Morally, & in my HEALTHY life. A legend indeed you were. Your rebukes, chastisements, corrections, cautions, were timely, orderly & for my good. Humn!!! I will always cherish the good memories of our numerous discussions because I always run to you. DADDY, ALL YOU MEANT TO ME CANT BE FULLY TOLD HERE. Your names indeed offers both consolation & admonition:
Emmanuel- God will always be with us all.
Olatunde- Our wealth shall indeed return to us.
Sanya- Good is better than suffering. I miss you my dear daddy. SING EVERMORE IN HEAVEN AS YOU HAVE BEEN ELEVATED BY YOUR HUMILITY.

It is still hard to believe that you are no more with us. My heart has never felt this way before. You were a father, teacher, preacher, disciplinarian etc. You always have your special way of calling everyone and when you do, the person must smile. You do know how to fish us out when we try to dodge, you were a Fisher of men. I have watched you drive some of us in your car yourself to different state several times just to attend events of church members and I wonder how someone of you caliber do lt, I call you the road master. You were very full of life, my personal encounter with you can never be erased. You are indeed a Rear Gem. It pleases God to call you home at this time and we can not question it.
Continue to rest in the bosom of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Reverend Professor Emmanuel Olatunde SANYA.
Good night.

Prof. Sanya would be missed as a colleague, friend and ally. I met you last in the year 2020 at the new College Building. It is so hard to accept that you are not more with us. But my memory of you will linger on for a long time. Rest in peace.

Dear Tunde,
It is so sad that for over thirty years, we lost contact and it was just a few hours ago that I came across your obituary by chance. I have, since then, been reminiscing on our time together as room mates at the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria during the 1986/87 session.
You were vibrant, jovial, friendly, boisterous and brilliant too. I still remember your unique smiles and the infections laughter.
Though pained by the shortness of your time on this side of eternity, I am consoled by the great impact you made on humanity, both as a medical guru and a servant of God before taking a bow.
May your soul find eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord and may God Almighty give your family and friends the fortitude to bear the pain of your demise.
Sleep on, bro.

We still find it hard and difficult to believe that you have left us daddy. Who can fill the vacuum you've left behind?
You played an important role in our family both nuclear and extended, spiritually and physically. You were not just our Reverend, but our father, our friend, our teacher, our disciplinarian, our adviser, our role model and a preacher of the word. Indeed, you were a true Shepherd unto death.
You lived a perfect example of a balanced life. As tight as your schedule seems, you are always finding out time to visit, help and support people. We remember your sacrifices for our wedding, You sacrificed your exam supervision in Ibadan and travelled with us all the way to Edo state. You were our chief wedding planner. During my wife's surgery, though you could not get out of your sick bed, you still monitored it and ensured that all went well. Oh daddy,we shall miss that your special smile, your caring heart, the warm embrace you always give us. Our solace is that you lived a righteous life and now a saint triumphant.
Continue to Rest in the bosom of our the Lord, A true soldier of faith, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Olatunde Sanya.

I can't still believe that you have left us . When I was told that you are now one of the triumphant saints, I thought it wasn't true, that I still asked that where is Rev. now, it was reiterated to me that you are gone and taken to mortuary. I never imagined penning down a tribute to you in the next 20 years. When I got to Ilorin God gave you to me as a father, counselor, priest, doctor, in short you were so many things to me. Words are failing me! Rev. lived for others, he bore others burden, he fulfilled the law of Christ. Mother earth has indeed lost a rare gem. What a great gain for heaven. I have plenty questions to ask when I get to heaven. Keep resting sir.

Oluwatomisin, oloruko... As he fondly calls me, even though I don't like sharing my challenges with people, he still knew I was going through something, always ready to help, a father in a senior pastor.
Walking alone is not very easy, but It's harder coming back alone after walking with someone like you.
You have laid down a good legacy, we will continue from where you stopped, we will not depart from it. Even though this is sad, it's also a thing of joy to know that you are resting at the feet of the Lord, keep resting daddy. We love you, but God loves you more.

Words cannot express the depth of loss we have had as a body if christ. You were a great support to us (fsf). You cared for us as a father and stood by us.
if hospitality and care was a person, it'd have been you. If discipline was a person, it'd have been you. If selflessness and kindness were a person, it'd have been you Reverend!

You'll be greatly missed sir!
Our consolation is that you lived a good life of faith and we have hope of seeing you again at the master's feet.
Adieu sir!

Dear Brother Tunde, It has been so surreal since the news broke on the evening of Sunday 11th April. Our conversations after your return pointed to your recovery but God had a superior plan for you. He needed you to be one of the Angels worshipping him. The pain is deep but I rejoice in the fact that you loved God will all your heart. You fought a good fight of faith.
I celebrate you my brother, I remember the inspiration you were even when we were children, I celebrate the man you became, I celebrate the impact you made, I celebrate the conviction with which you lived life, i celebrate your legacy.
You served God and Mankind through three important platforms among others. The pulpit, Healthcare and the Academia.
In my quiet moments, I praise God for the gift of you. Our moments together are etched in my memory forever. Many know you as their Reverend, their Professor, I am one of the few privileged who knew you as ‘Brother.’
Rest on my dear brother in the bosom of our Lord

Oluwashoni!!.......I can still hear that fatherly voice calling with words of wisdom. It's so hard to believe that you've left us.
Your time on earth was short but impacted alot of lives. I and my siblings were strangers in a no man's land, you didn't know us but you took us as your own. You were a Father to us. You supported us financially, emotionally, academically and spiritually.
You taught the Word with so much passion. You lead the church with so much zeal. You geared everyone towards success. You were a shepherd to lost sheeps, I know because at some point in my life I was lost. You were the definition of a Christian. You were knowledgeable in so many areas of life. It was an honor to share a celebration day with you Sir. You are a figure that will forever remain in my heart.
Rev. Prof. E.O Sanya, you fought a good fight, you finished the race, you kept the faith. Continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord.

I still find it really hard to believe that you are no longer with us. Why would you leave us so soon. You were a father, a counselor, a teacher, a mentor, a disciplinarian, a guardian, a preacher of the gospel, a family doctor to all and a lover of Christ. I could still remember then when my dad was so sick and you assured us that nothing is going to happen to him. There was a time you travelled out and my dad had to be telling you that will you still come back to meet him alive, Reverend, you told my dad that he should keep calm that you will come and meet him alive and you did came back to meet him alive and well. How I wish I could turn back the hand of time for you to stay with us.
Oluwarakeli, Last card Baba Goddy as you fondly call me, I was even thinking that you will call my name like that on my wedding day, but now you are no more. Who will call me that name like you used to? Thank you for the fatherly love, attention and advice you gave to me. I will miss everything about you especially those smiles, But God knows best. I heard of your departure on my way to work on that faithful Monday, what a rude shock! Unbelievable, least expected, I had just spoken to you barely 3 weeks away, not knowing that will be the last on this side of the divide. As always you were quick to offer help at no cost. Your selflessness can't be quantified, your care for your sheep whether near or far unbreakable. Rest on sir, my family and I are evidences of your work here on Earth, you were a Father to us in a strange land, even when we left unceremoniously, you still fathered us. Adieu till we meet to part no more.

Prof E.O. Sanya, a teacher with a difference. You made us sit tight in medical school( LTH) knowing fully well that the human body and, particularly, the brain are not to be taken with mediocrity. You gave us medical stuffs, life stories, uncommon advice, and effortless jokes. I remember how you used to tease Prof E.O. Ayodele (a renowned medical icon in nephrology), your dear friend, each time we had marathon lectures in internal medicine. These duo would dazzle everybody with their friendship anytime we are in their midst. Prof Sanya, you led a complete life! May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace through Christ Our Lord...Amen

Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Olatunde Sanya...
You were my Voice...yes my voice when I needed to cry unto the Lord, you prayed along and encouraged. My voice when politics stand in the way, you pulled me along to get a headway. My voice when things needed to be done, you encouraged, showed up and stood up for me. Sir, you were my Spiritual Father, my Pastor, and were magnanimous to make me your family friend.

Indeed earth’s loss has become heaven’s gain...no doubt the angels are rejoicing at your homecoming.

Though you have passed from this earth and its toiling, you will always be remembered by what you have done, though you pass away like the stars in the morning, passed from this earth and its toiling, you are remembered for what you have done. Only the truth that have spoken, the seeds of the word of God and of kindness that you have sown, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Olatunde Sanya, these shall pass on as testimonies now you have gone to be with your Lord and maker. Good night Ba'ami Sanya!

Your death seems like a mystery to me. It was to sudden. You remind me of brevity of life and that who we are in Christ and what we do for the Lord's glory is all that matters. You were so energetic, dynamic and passionate about whatever you do, whether spiritual or secular. You were loving in your own unique way. You used your medical knowledge to touch lives in the entire family. You had the intestinal fortitude to say the truth, even in difficult terrains. You were a great disciplinarian, but I knew you had your own tennets and I respected them. You will be remembered as a gallant soldier of Christ, though your death is a great loss for the family and too painful for me but I take solace in the assurance that you are resting in the bossom of the Lord. With heavy hearts I say adieu to a special and rare Brother-in-law.

Your kind of love is rare!!!You loved, trained and watch us flourish under your tutoring. You took care of all that pertain to us- Spiritually, physically, health wise. You project into the future for us. You were my father,my father in law,my husband confidant, our dearest pastor and friend. To say I will miss you is an understatement! No one to call me " Aya Pastor mii" again. God this hurts sooooo much. Daddy, you were victorious over death! You conquered death. You were a true soldier, you laid down your sword gallantly. I imagine angels welcoming you home. You are now amongst the cloud of witnesses, cheering us to keep fighting. I wish it wasn't true. Prof Sanya, your sudden demise was a very rude shock to me. You were an amiable loving person. Kindhearted and simple. You were an embodiment of many virtues to say the least. I could recollect when I had an appointment with you in your office in 2019 with regards to the pain I had on my leg. You treated me with dignity, did all you could as a neurologist and reassured me all is well. You really demonstrated you are truly a child of The Most High God. Prof we all love you but God took you to be with Him. Who are we (mortals) to question Him? Thank you Prof Sanya for caring for me (Iya Ogbede) as you fondly called me. You'll be greatly missed. Rest on until ressurection morning when we meet at Jesus Feet.

My Rev'd, Ave been reluctant at writing a tribute for you, somehow I just felt the Lazarus experience could still be repeated in you. It's beginning to Dawn on me that you're truly gone.
You're many things to me encapsuled into one. You're my pastor, my physician, my brother, my friend and my confidant, (I refuse to refer to you in past tense).
You are a very loyal friend who sticks to one through thick and thin, you identify with one's glory and one's shame, you share in one's joy and pains.
Whenever any of your brethrens is going through trials, you have a way of feeling it in your spirit as a good shepherd, you will surface at the nick of time, offer a shoulder to cry on and proffer an immediate solution.
I remember how you used to respond whenever I reported one of my erring sons to you, you would say " Banky (as you fondly call me) leave him to me" and like a magic wand from a good fairy, you have a way of casting out the spell of disobedience from erring youths.
My beloved Rev'd and brother, this page cannot contain all your virtues and qualities. I take solace in one of your favorite Biblical quotes in Romans 8:30
"Moreover, whom he did predestinate, them he also called, and whom he called, them he also justified, and whom he justified, them he also glorified"
You were called, you were justified and you have been glorified, glory be to the name of the Lord. Adieu, my Rev'd.

The memory of the righteous is a blessing (proverbs 10:6).

So many things to recall about your impact. I grew up dressing like you even till my 100 level days, You made me join my first church unit in my life (I.T department), you gave me your 5 alive drink for making attempt to learn the keyboard, you gave me money to buy a choir uniform, you insisted I accept the then admission to study English instead of doing nothing at home, you forged us with fire as weapons for Christ, you introduced me to the first book on purpose (Purpose Driven Life), your story on establishing a church as a youth corper is still one of your spiritual landmarks for us to imitate, even your dressing communicates excellence.

You spoke the truth without being biased and you made us understand your intent with Love.

You fought and defended your sheeps as a true pastor.

You have succeeded as a Father inculcating the pattern of Christ into us.

You are many things to many people but you will forever remain a FATHER to me.

It has been very difficult for me to write this tribute because it is difficult to believe I won't see you on the corridor saying " iya ewe, Aya oba, otunba nko?"

However I have been challenged by the fact that even those who never met you are writing tributes to you.

There is no doubt that you had a very impactful life; testimonies abound from your family, church, students, residents, colleagues and patients. We give God all the glory for all He enabled you to do.

I pray for God's comfort and strength particularly for your wife and children.

So sad to hear of your demise, in less than 3 years I have known you, you have been an epitome of a father both in time of wants and in times of plenty. You lived by example a man you can run to no matter the challenges, how you brought smiles to many, my associate was crying because of a health report she got I told you about it and you came out from your leave to attend to her and that was how smile came back to her life. You were not just a father, you were an apostle, a friend to both young and old, a mentor, a doctor, a teacher, humility personified always on time despite your busy schedules. Even your text message can cause a miracle as it happen when my daughter was admitted and she was fading away. I thought you will still remain with us for long but God's reasoning a far away from human’s, and it pleases him to call you to rest. Till we meet again in the bosom of the Lord.

I got to know you through my husband when you asked him then to include you in our wedding program in Lagos. It was a very short notice he gave you as he just joined the Tanke church then and just wanted to observe protocols. He didn't believe that you could make it seeing that you were very busy. So that was the beginning of our relationship with you. you touched our lives more than any pastor have done. I remember you came into the labour room when I was birthing our son, you held my hand and encouraged me and even sang a line of"sweet mother" to me and said " this what mother's go through". I have so many beautiful memories of our loving father. He was there for my family, he was ever ready to help in prayers, advice, health wise,e.t.c. It's a month already, how time flies, seems like yesterday, still fresh and still stings.
It's obvious God is harvesting the best of His own. Sleep on beloved Rev'd, your memory will forever remain fresh and blessed.

What a shock I had to hear of your demise. I remember the first time I ever had contact with you was when I was your patient. Well I thank God for your life because I believe you lived for Him so I am confident that you are resting right now in the bosom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Adieu sir.

The news of your demise came shocking, I was destabilized. Even though I haven’t seen you in about 2years, fresh memories of my encounter with you in med school and house job kept flooding my mind.

I can’t forget loving epilepsy as a topic more through you, especially TLE....you were a great teacher! Your ever lively persona and fatherly advice will be missed by all.

This is really a trying time, may your loved ones be fortified to bear this
