Daddy,

You passed on exactly 1 month after my dad.
You both were the same age.
You both were taken away by the same wretched disease.
We have lost here on earth but heaven has gained saints.
We will not mourn, rather we will celebrate the many wonderful memories.
Your shoes will be so hard to fill. But now, from up there, you will help us.
Rest in peace with our maker, you live on with our maker.

Sade, Bolu, Mummy,

Please take heart.
It is Daddy's time.
He is in a better place and now better able to watch over us.
May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

I am short of words to express my feelings about a wonderful and faithful friend who was always there to support and encourage me, especially, in time of need.
The old adage, "A friend in need is a friend indeed" is very true of you. I really appreciate your contributions to my life. Even on your sickbed, you still had space for me in your caring heart. Knowing you was a wonderful experience.
The sweet memory of your compassion and integrity will linger on. Our comfort is that your soul is at peace and rest with your Saviour whom you served diligently.

I was in initial denial and shock when i heard of the demise of Pa Adenola whom i have come to admire and look up to, to glean from his wealth of experience in life. Destiny and purpose made our path to cross on the journey of faith beginning from RCCG Winners Assembly at Ring Road, and other circle of believers. I find him to be an admirable uncle and a man of character to learn from, which brought me come closer to him and the family. Pa Adenola is a man that is full of compassion and would not want anything to hurt you no matter how small it may be. Heaven has gained you and we are missing you here until the resurrection morning when we shall meet to pass more.

Daddy,
Your departure has left a great vacuum that only God can fill. You were ever so dear loving and kind. Memories of my childhood days are grossly incomplete without you. I can remember them just like yesterday. I grew up to see our two families as one family. After the demise of my father, you remained close to our family.
What I cherish the most is the role you played in leading my mother and I to Christ. We can never forget you so easily. We will keep remembering your charming smile till we meet in glory at the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ.

LIFE IS ALL ABOUT IMPACT

It’s very hurting for me to discuss daddy in the past .So many character traits attracted him to me. The first one was his smartness, very athletic in movement .You would never see him walking clumsily .He climbed the stairs faster than most youths. I remembered telling him that I would want to be athletic and agile like him when I got to his age.

Daddy Adenola was one who could not stand the slightest discord among pastors. Whenever he noticed the slightest differences among pastors, he would go any length to resolve it. He has at most times commissioned me to resolve one or more issues that could affect our relationship as pastors.

Daddy was also a silent giver. Most of his giving were done without any fuss .I quite remember the day he came to our parish , he lovedour microphones , enquired of the cost ,he gave me money to buysome and instructed me to give them to a particular parish anonymously . That was the kind of man daddy was.

Daddy Adenola was consumed with the passion to see everyone productively engaged. He was the brain behind a lot of us receiving trainings at EDC, Samonda, Ibadan which qualified most of us to access Federal Government Intervention Loans.

Daddy as the men’s leader organized several empowerment training programs at regional level. At one of such programs he gave my wife an opportunity to be one of the key facilitators. Very support to Women Empowerment. A tireless, humble and unassuming leader indeed.

Daddy Adenola thought me how to be calm in the face of extreme provocation or even when hurt deeply. I live to cherish him.

Thank you daddy for being a good father, a mentor and apracticing Christian. Thank you for making lasting impact on our lives. You will forever be remembered by me. Good night sir.

Your smile always give me courage to stand. " The reward of a good work is more work" this you usually tell us whenever we won an ward from P&G.

TRIBUTE TO PASTOR TUNJI ADENOLA (The Icon):
Pa Tunji Adenola was a man deeply interested in the welfare or concerns of humanity. He pursued the calling of feeding the soul and body of man. He was a pastor and agriculturalist. He was a successful father and husband. He was a founding member of MAAN and served in various positions of responsibility from National President to Chairman BOT and delivered perfectly. Baba was selfless, visionary and examplary in all his endeavours. He enjoyed the rare privilege of impeccable integrity, mentor, adviser, friend and uncompromisable principles. He was a rare gem and a generational gift and blessing to humanity. The death of Pa Tunji Adenola at this critical time in the transition of MAAN is most regrettable and irredeemable. His death is a monumental loss to MAAN, family, agricultural sector and entire humanity.

Daddy Adenola was our Pastor in RCCG Winners Assembly, Akinyemi way, Ibadan.
Since then he has taken us as his spiritual children like biological.
Daddy would never compromise saying the truth on any matter and never hesitate to give wise counsel when occasions demand.
Of great delight was his enviable relationships with younger men in that church, the likes of Barrister Dele Akinmusuti, Engr. Shogbesan, late pastor Tony Adenuga to mention but few.
Moreover, whenever his help or assistances are needed, he would rise up as a father will do for his beloved children.
One occassion i cannot forget in a hurry was when he introduced me to an organisation in the same building with his office when he was Director SGR. He passonally took me to meet the head of the agency who was visibly shocked to see daddy left his office to bring me to him. Since then the man dealth with me with the respect he gave to daddy Adenola.
Daddy lived an exemplary Christian life. I pray God will give our mummy, the children, church and all loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss in Jesus name.

Baba Ade, can't believe you're no longer with us but I take solace in knowing that you are in a better place with your Father dancing with the angels.

Yours was a beautiful life filled with love for ALL. You treated me like one of your own children and was always present for every one of our conversations. You made ,me feel welcome in any of homes and for that I am truly very grateful.

It saddens me greatly that I'll never see your gentle smile or hear your kind and wise words but the impact you made on me lives on and by His special grace, will be replicated in your children and grandchildren.

Rest well daddy....

Uncle Tunji is fondly remembered as a supportive and wise gentleman. He was an in-law who gave us support when needed. A light in the family. He and his wife, our dad's sister and aunt showed kindness and understanding on various occasions to our late father and our family.

Though the news of Pastor Adenola's death is shocking; yet his memory is a blessing and his loss our grief, and we are thankful for the legacy of his service to God and humanity. May his soul Rest in True and Perfect Peace. Our prayers of comfort are with our Aunty Bunmi and the entire family at this unusual period.

It is very difficult for me to come to believe that Daddy has transitioned to the other side of life. How precious shall be the memory of the righteous.
Your calm and soft approach to issues beats my imagination.
We will sure miss you on this side of life but we are comforted to know that you have joined the Saint triumph and you are only urging us to continue to fight the good fight of faith like you did, to finish our courses like you did and to keep the faith like you kept yours.

We celebrate you always in our hearts.

"We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away." Proverbs 10:7 (NLT)

Daddy, I met you and Mummy several years after Sister Seun and Pastor Lanre became bossom friends and it was warm!

Have met you at different functions after and same warmth. You come across simple and forthright.

You are blessing! Even in death, Yes! You are.
We will take the baton on from here with God on our side.

Heaven will comfort my friends and Momsie. Live on with your warmth until we meet to part no more!

Adieu Dad.

We first knew you as our pastor’s wife’s father but later, with your subsequent frequent visits to our church in Ghana (The Redeemed Christian Church of God, The Ambassadors) to preach the undiluted word of God, pray for & with us, advice & admonish us, you became a friend and a father.

In one of your sermons at our church (7th Supernatural Sunday of March 30, 2014), you said and I quote you verbatim, “Victory is what you receive after you have had a successful battle. It is what you receive after defeating the enemy. It is also what you have when you pass a test. It is when a reproach in your life is taken away. Victory is very sweet especially when you have gone through so much sorrow. And the ultimate victory is when you make it to heaven at the end of your journey.”

Indeed, you have defeated the enemy in victory and transitioned into heavenly glory which is the ultimate victory like you said. You are now in a place of rest, a place of sweetness, of peace and of abundant joy!

Sir, be rest assured that the Almighty God whom you served all your life on earth will take care of your wife, children, grandchildren, inlaws and all your loved ones in Jesus name

Rest in perfect peace sir.

You were a gentleman.
From the time we met in the University of Ife as Classmates, you were one of the men I would describe as a Gentleman in the true sence of the Word.
Little did I know that we would become friends as things turned out to be.
You introduced me to your beautiful girl later your darling wife and when we met in Kano, our friendship resumed.
I appreciate your trusting us with Bolu.
I thank you sincerely for supporting me in rough times.
Your love, support and words were sincere and encouraging all the time.
I pray for your dear wife, children and grand children that the Holy Spirit will comfort and strengthen them and trust that they will continue in the path of Godliness that you have set as the Priest and head of the home.

We sure will meet in heaven as this is our hope as believers.

May your gentle soul rest in Peace Sir.

I knew you at a distance when you used to visited us at RCCG - The Ambasadors in Accra, and got closer when Pastor Seun told me how yourself and Mummy used to pray for me and took special interest in my progress when i was critically ill in 2016. I still remember your excitment when you saw me at Pastor Lanre's 50th birthday as i had recovered quite well.

May God console and uphold Mummy, Pastor Seun, Pastor Lanre and all the loved ones you left behind.

Daddy, yes there is time for everything under the sun,but I never expected your demise at this time.
You were a very disciplined, straight forward and a builder of people. As an SA to you when you were the Director,Strategic Reserve Department, you taught me hard work, meticulous in whatever I do and keeping records.
I will never forget in one of our private discussions, you told me "Bamidele I will teach you how to fish and you shall feed others" . This you did. I shall keep the flag flying.
Rest in perfect peace,Daddy.

Daddy Adenola,
You were a Father to all. I was taken aback, and indeed pleasantly surprised when you recognized me in Accra, so many years subsequent to the time you were with us as a Minister in RCCG, Central Parish Abuja. Your fatherly, gentle, simple, yet assuring mien did not diminish one bit.
Your disarming smile, welcoming words of encouragement and assurance about the divine design of my journey to the church turned out to be a prophecy that continues to unravel in fulfilment every day. They will certainly stay and abide with me in my journey of life. Your legacy lives on.
May the Lord be with your Wife, Pastor Seun, Pastor Lanre and with every other member of your family and loved ones.

I am yet to come to terms with the reality of your passing. It was a shock that caused an upset to the core of my being. Your passing is a huge loss to all that knew you. Daddy you can never be forgotten rather we will hold dearly all fond memories of you.
You called me my daughter and iyawo ijebu while I called you my daddy.
You dutifully took it upon yourself to look out for us and keeping regular contact. You will phone to check on us , the kids, work and our well being.
Your guidance was appropriate for navigating all terrain for this am thankful for knowing you.
I draw comfort in knowing that you have gone to a better place.

I still find it difficult to believe that Daddy has gone to join the saints. Our consolation is that he is now in a better place. Daddy's life was full of emulation, his encouragement, his love, his compassion, his discipline, his smile, his listening skills, his open handed welcoming nature can never be forgotten. A good father is a man who expects his children to be as good children as he meant to be, Daddy was the best man I knew that possessed this character. He expected us even as employees to be the best at all times in all we were doing, he did this by his constant encouragement, holding us accountable for our actions but never unkind about it.
Daddy put God first in everything he did including starting a daily business, I have never seen that anywhere I have worked. He was a perfect gentleman with a good spirit. Rest on Dad, you shall surely be missed.

A Tribute to Pastor ADENOLA, Olatunji Adebowale.
Pastor Adenola was a God's willing vessel, a man I call my spiritual father.
A man that brought many learned Christians to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
A man after God's own heart; a mighty man of valor.
A man who knew the word of prayer to encourage your soul and stir up your fire in Christ.
For his delight was in the law of the Lord, and in His law doth he meditated – day and night while in this world.
Daddy though you have departed this sinful world, your legacies can never be forgotten.
Adieu Daddy Adenola......it is still a mystery writing on you in past tense.

Shocked...no confused was the right word to use to describe my feeling when the news was broken to me. Well, Daddy lived a very good life with lot of evidences to show. May the good Lord keep all he left behind safe and steady.

Daddy, a very gentleman to the core with emblem of gentle smile. He only talked when it matters. A fearful man of God with intentional passion for Christ to the core. I always like talking to him whenever the opportunity presented itself. Without any doubt, I am surely going to miss him damn too much. IT IS WELL. His Life

Early Childhood and Education

March 25, 2021
Olatunji Adebowale Adenola was born to the family of Pa Saibu and Ma Suli Adenola (nee Alebiosu) in Ago Iwoye on June 1st 1943. He was the first of five children.

He started his education at Mamu Wesley school after which he proceeded to Methodist Modern School at Ago-Iwoye. After Modern School, he attended Molusi College, Ijebu-Igbo for a year. This was where he became a christian.

He attended Ijebu-Ode Grammar school in 1962. While at Ijebu-Ode Grammar school, he served as the class captain of his set for 4 consecutive years; he was fondly referred to as "cappy". He also served as the prefect of school house in his final year.

He was an accomplished sportsman; participating in 400m, 800m, mile races and hockey both for the school and in national hockey competitions. He was the chairman of the Yoruba cultural society and was also in the school choir. He was indeed loved by many including his juniors, classmates, seniors and teachers.

From Ijebu-Ode Grammar school, he proceeded to University of Ife where he bagged a B.Sc degree in Agriculture. His academic performance earned him the marketing board scholarship. He graduated in 1972.

After some years, He later attended the University of Wisconsin in 1976 where he obtained a Masters degree in Agronomy (1978).

Adult Life (Work)

March 25, 2021
Olatunji Adebowale Adenola started work with the Federal Ministry of  Agriculture upon graduation from Ife. After his masters degree in 1978, he returned to the Ministry and served in various departments starting in Ibadan before being transferred to Kano.

He worked at the Rice Maize center, NCRI Ibadan as the coordinator. In 2000, he moved to Abuja; joining the National Strategic Grains Reserve department as the Deputy Director. He rose to the peak of his career in the Ministry and retired in 2007 as a Federal Director in charge of the department (similar to the role of Joseph in Egypt).

During his tenure as the director, Nigeria got linked with the World Food Programme (WFP) where the nation realized sizeable foreign exchange earnings from maize, sorghum and millet. These were used by the WFP as food aid to needy countries in Africa.

Other achievements include:
1.Construction and completion of additional 5 Nos 25,000Mt capacity silos at Ibadan, Ezzilo, Kaduna, Ilorin and Jos.
2. The establishment of Committee on Guarantee Minimum Price,GMP.
3. The storage of food items (garri).
4. Encouraged the construction of one(1) MT on farm storage for small holder farmers.
5. Annual training in collaboration with United state of American's USAID Commodity, in both bulk and warehouse storages.
6. Increased the country storage reserves from about 35,000MT to 750,000MT.
Being very passionate about Maize and having studied it extensively, he was one of the founding members of the Maize Association of Nigeria (MAAN). In 1997, he became the president of Maize Association of Nigeria (MAAN), a role he held for 20 years. When he initially wanted to handover, the members "planned a coup and left him alone; that he was going nowhere".

During his tenure, he achieved so many great feats for the farmers and the association; notably MAAN was invited by Federal Ministry of Agriculture to produce certified seeds. He ensured the association had a befitting permanent office and insisted that the leadership of MAAN be rotated and the successor mentored. Until his demise, he was the chairman of the board of trustees of the association.

He was a member of the American Society of Agronomy, Stakeholders Advisory Committee for International Maize and Wheat improvement Centre (CIMMYT) Mexico (where he represented Africa) and the Institute of Directors of Nigeria.

I first met Pastor Adenola in 1968 when I was in a relationship with his sister Abike. He was visiting his friend, Mr. Dehinbo at Olorunsogo, Mushin, Lagos. He accepted me immediately as if he had known me for years. When I married his sister in April 1969, the relationship became much more cordial.

Pastor Adenola was a nice and kind hearted person. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law and friend. He will be sorely missed. May God grant his soul eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord. May God grant his family the fortitude to bear his loss. Amen.
