Oliver Clinton Dick went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, in Opelousas, La. He was born July 29, 1939, in Berkeley County.

Clinton was preceded in death by his parents, James Richard Dick and Jessie Jennings Morrow Dick; and an infant brother, Robert Leroy Dick.

He is survived by his first wife and mother of his children, Phyllis Crouse Dick; and his second wife, Lois VanHorn Dick. He is also survived by four children, Anthony Wayne Dick, Ronald Lynn Dick, Shelly Ann Dick Arnaud and her husband, Mark, and Michael Wade Dick and his wife, Rebecca. Among them are seven grandchildren, Randy, Benjamin, Amber, Alex, Michael Jr., Colton and Casey Joanna; and three great-grandchildren, Sadie, Sawyer and Matthew.

Clinton was one of 11 children. Surviving are James Richard Dick Jr. and his wife, Shirley, of Winchester, Va., Thelma Louise Wood, of Hedgesville, John Henry Dick and his wife, Louise, of Tampa, Fla., Nora Lee Walls and her husband, Ray, of Kearneysville, Boyd Annise Dick, of Hedgseville, Roy Franklin Dick and his wife, Patricia, of Shepherdsown, Mary Evelyn Burkhart, of Martinsburg, Pastor Donald Wayne Dick and his wife, Alice, of Hedgesville and Frieda Diane Weaver, of Hedgesville. Deceased brothers and sister-in-law are Eugene Burkhart, Richard Wood and Mary Ann Dick.

He is also survived by a faithful, caring friend, Linda Carlisle.

Clinton retired from Corning Glass Works, of Martinsburg. He traveled to Brazil to open a plant there and returned to close it a few years later. He loved hunting and fishing.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Synders Bible Chapel, in Morgan County. His brother, the Rev. Donald Dick, will be officiating.
