His Life

I remember it like it was yesterday.  It was on a Monday, the day after Mother's Day.  I was in labor all day, and true to his sign (Taurus the bull), he was stubborn even then.  He refused to be born on Mother's Day.  Then Monday he came, this was before father's were allowed in the Labor Room and so Ollie (his dad) was left to pace in the father's waiting room.

As soon as he was born, Dr. Vincent showed me that I had a son.  Denise had a baby brother.  As I was wheeled out of the delivery room I was met by my husband, who asked excitedly what we had.  I said, "its a boy," "but he's so bald."

Later, after Ollie had gone down to the nursery to see our first born son, he came to my room and said, "bald??? the boy has a head full of hair."  What Dr. Vincent had shown me in the delivery room, to confirm that he was a boy, was Butch's rear-end...LOL

Everyone said, Donna he looks just like you.  From his first cry to his last, he looked like me.  So when I look in the mirror sometimes I see my son.  When I look at his first born, LaToya, I see him and when I look at LaToya's baby-girl, Jazzy, I know he lives on, but anyway I know that I will see him again.

Missing you Butch..."you went tooooo soon."
