Tribute to my father-in-law

‘Baba’ as we fondly call you, you played your role so well as a father to us all to the extent that I don’t even see you as a father-in-law but as a father. You are always so sensitive to know when there’s an issue and how to come in. A courageous and faithful man of God to the core. Your preaching was always against the flesh and worldly things, you always encourage us to keep the faith. Truly Baba is not dead, he is more alive at the moment, he has gone higher, out of this old clay tenement into a house that is immortal, a body that sin cannot touch, a body fashioned into His glorious body.
Baba has reached the ultimate destination of the universe, we say that he has ‘departed,’ but God says that he has ‘arrived’.
Am so happy to announce this BABA IS MUCH ALIVE!!!
We love you so very much Dad, continue to enjoy His presence till we meet again.

Tribute to my Dad

Don’t delay your good deeds, for you shall not pass through this way again.

My precious dad has bid this sinful world fare well but his legacies live on. I will always remember the love, advice, trainings and words of wisdom you have imparted into my life and my siblings’. Words cannot quantify my love for you Dad, you are such a wonderful man who has impacted my life in various ways. It saddens my heart you had to leave at this time but when I think of where you are at the moment I cant but rejoice in the Lord for counting you worthy, you’re exactly where you belong.
I can still remember your last day on this earth, we just finished singing your favorite songs, had a session of prayers and immediately after sharing the grace in fellowship you took your last breath just like that. It’s such a great honor to witness your departure. My dad is a man of his words, a captain of his ship, whatsoever stone he stepped on, no man can move his feet.i am so blessed to have him as my father. I will also work hard to see you at the other page of life by Gods grace.
I know my dad is in a safer place right now, a place we all aspire to be one day, truly he had fought the good fight, finished his course and had kept the faith, it’s now left for us that are still privileged to be among the living to choose our part now . Today, am not mourning a father but celebrating my great hero GEORGE OLUFEMI AFOLABI. Continue to rest in the bosom of our Jesus Christ my precious Dad till we meet to part no more.

TRIBUTE TO A LOVING BROTHER.
All my life, I knew you to be a loving, pleasant, and encouraging person. You were a brother in a million, known for your gentleness and kindness.
My consolation is that you served the Lord and we shall see again on the day of resurrection.

TRIBUTE TO A GOD'S GENERAL
It is with deep sense of loss but with gratitude to El-shaddai God for a life fully spent in the service of the Master, Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Though, it is a painful loss, I am greatly encouraged by the wholesome commitment of our father, Bishop George Afolabi to the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He was a dogged fighter in the arena of faith, he was a gallant soldier even when attacks within and without fell on him.
Two years ago when you came to spend a whole week with me to bless my people, little did I know that you came to bid me farewell. How I wished I was by your bedside to tap double of God's anointing in your life before your departure!
How are the mighty fallen!
Adieu Papa !!!

The bible makes us to understand that there is a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. The family of FAWENU miss him dearly and will equally miss his wise counsel, the man of integrity keep resting in the Lord until resurrection morning when we meet to part no more. Adieu Bishop. G.O. Afolabi.

A great father worthy of example to emulate. You have taught us the way of the Lord from our childhood, making sure we are brave and hardworking as a female child. An encourager, loving, honest, highly intelligent, an instrumentalist, a singer, a great dancer and a great preacher of the gospel filled with holy spirit.
We tried so hard for you to hold on while God was calling you home, but it was time to fly home.
You have fought a good fight of faith and finished strong. Till we meet again, good night daddy.

I have been asking my mummy, where have you been and she said, you are now in heaven that I should not cry for not seeing you because you're resting and enjoying with Jesus that you're not coming back. Bye- bye grandpa.

Tribute to my dad

I want to start off by thanking my mother for having such great taste in men. She chose George Olufemi Afolabi, a man who would love, honor and respect her for over 41 years and whose love she likewise returned. I want to thank you, Mom, for selecting for us the most wonderful and loving father. One we could respect, treasure and adore, one who was such a loving and caring Grandpa to his grandchildren. How deeply and tenderly he loved us.

Growing up would always push and drag to work and the farm. At that time I thought you don't like me. I thank you so much you made me strong, independent and wiser. I thank God for His grace upon you and also for giving you the opportunity to see and carry my son (laud).

I wish to mention some virtues and qualities of my beloved and dear father as mentioned by his associates, friends and well-wishers during their condolence visits. I am also a living witness to the virtues for which my father was generously praise.

I like to talk about my father’s adherence to and love of truth and truthfulness. He was a man of truth by his words and actions. He tried to be truthful in whatever decision he took during his life. He never found it difficult to say the truth because of its bitterness, he always did it without fear or favour. He stood by the truth and justice even against himself or his children. I cannot recall a single time he lied to anybody including his spouse(s) and children.

He had a hunger for knowledge and possessed most inquisitive mind my father was always buying books on religions, DIY, electronics, medical, astronomy, geography etc. He always wanted to create and innovate and would spend his time and resources trying to build devices. He was a multi talented man I ever know.

Attribute of my father is his commitment to prayer.
Until his death, my father remained committed to voluntary prayers in the night. It is an open secret to all who lived with him in the same home. He spent most of his time in observing prayers.

The day I will never forget in my life is the 2nd of August, 2017. On that day, i was about leaving ilorin back to my base so I entered his room with my brother and my mom to pray with him as he use to pray for me anytime I want to travel. We started singing his favourite songs and we prayed with him and we shared "The grace of our lord Jesus Christ... Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our live and we shall duel in the house of lord forever and ever amen" immediately he stopped breathing and left this sinful world to me his creator.

I lost my father, who was very dear to me and family members, a man who was kind to those who he did not know personally. He was such a rare gem: strong, bold and above all, a very honest man. He was a pillar that everybody could lean on; he had supported a lot of people and touched the  lives of many people positively. This is a huge loss to all, not his family members only. Thankfully, we remember him everyday and pray that his soul will continue to rest in peace.
I will forever miss you
Till we meet again
