His Life

Olufemi Bankole Ayeni was born in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria on the 7th of February 1964, to Mr Michael Akibo Ayeni from Ondo State and Mrs Juliana Olabisi Ayeni (Nee Bereola) from Abeokuta, Ogun State.


Femi attended Kaykotun Primary School in Surulere for his primary education and gained admission to Birch Freeman High School, Surulere for his secondary education. At Birch Freeman High school, Femi being one of the best students and a key member of the Literary and Debating society, represented the school on various occasion as the Chief Speaker at the Lagos State Schools Debate Competition winning various trophies for his school. 

Femi proceeded to Igbobi College, Yaba for his A levels, also representing the school at The Lagos State Schools Debate Competition. He served as the Deputy Senior Prefect in his final year at Igbobi College.

Being a firm believer in education, he proceeded immediately after his A Levels to the United State of America for further studies. He attended the University of Miami, Florida where he graduated .After graduation, Femi moved to the United Kingdom and began his career with The Lord Chancellor’s Office as an Administrator. He also worked for few other companies within the financial sector until he returned to Nigeria to commence his private business.

Femi was a well known business contractor in Lagos and Abuja, in the areas of catering services for financial and corporate organisations.  He also ran a very successful civil engineering and construction company. Until his death, he was the Managing Director of HGP Nigeria Limited.

As an active member of community development programmes, he served as the chairman of Longe Street Resident Association and Oba Babington Ashaya Street Association.

Olufemi Bankole Ayeni is survived by his wife - Bola, five wonderful children; Oladipupo, Olorunfemi (FJ), Morayolowa, Moyofunoluwa and Modadeanuoluwa, his sisters brothers cousins nephews and nieces and an army of friends and admirers.
