What Will Be Said About Me
Dear Sis,
In the bathroom this morning, as i kept asking myself why you had to live now, so many thoughts were in my mind and head but the pressing one was ''WHAT WILL BE SAID ABOUT ME WHEN ITS MY TURN TO GO''. Death is certain but we all need to check ourselves. So much has been said about our dear sister Funke and they are not cooked up stories, they are the truth and nothing but the truth. Will i get 1% of this?, Hmmmmm
Rest on Sis
My Sister. My Friend
Jives.
We started off as roomates in school (and remained roomates for the duration of medical school) but transitioned into friends and then sisters.
Beautiful, Generous, Gentle but firm when necessary. Witty, Smart as a tack. Dependable. No drama but yet that wonderful complexity to your sweet simplicity. Your self confidence which could not help but manifest externally in your own unique steady stride. The elegance with which you carried yourself...
I have no one story set in time but rather a continual one because Funke, you gave me a home away from home for my 8 years plus in Lagos. You and your family welcomed me graciously and made my time in school painless. You were always there for me, for my Mom in my absence. I just had to call.
Last October, I couldnt see you but spoke to you from your house in Ikeja while you were in Abuja. I am just so glad I got to talk to you a few weeks ago.
Why did this happen? Knowing that you trusted in the Lord and that it was His decision, I have no choice but to accept his will.
My prayer is that God will give Mummy, Remi, Toyin and Fola and the rest of your family and friends, the strenght to cope with your passing on. May we all take heart knowing that one day, we will meet again where there will be no sorrow or parting of ways but rather a resumption of where we left off. Until then Jives.
