it's Christmas and I remember my mum. I remember how she ensured we all had a merry  Christmas. 2002 Christmas was memorable, she bought us our clothes in October, quality shirts with the Korea/Japan 2002 World Cup theme. I remember she wore a brown Ankara and I asked why she wore a dull cloth. She laughed and told me we were her priority. Her cloth was also fine but I just felt it was not shiny enough. 

And the chickens, lol. My mum was scared of chickens till she died. I had to step up and kill the poor birds. I started killing chickens at 8 or 9. She ensured we enjoyed our Christmas and the holidays. Missed you, mum.

She was born, went to school and lived like any average lady of her time. What was amazing is that she did all she had to do speedily. Starting a business early in life and getting married early. She went through life and would be remembered as different things to different people. Wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, teacher...  She's gone but her memories remain evergreen. We thank God for preserving her legacy.
