Happy birthday in heaven, mummy. Waiting to hop on a plane for a short trip and I imagined what your reaction would be to all these trips. The words I started saying years ago ring truer even today, "in your aspirations are our inspiration."

I was at Bodija market some nights ago with my colleague and I saw market people waiting to board buses home. The scene reminded me of when we would leave shop at night and trek home. You would back Eniola, Yinka and I would back our school bags and we would carry food and wet uniforms you washed. It was a tough life but I am not even sad, not anymore. I am happy now because I live a better life. I spent a part of last week with my siblings too and it was good. We are still growing but we are really getting better. Thank you for clearing the path and for your sacrifices. Love you, mummy
