It’s hard to say goodbye mummy ( Iya ijo ).
Nevertheless we trust that you are in a better place. I have known you from when I was a little boy and you trained us all to be truthful and contented ( with whatever we can afford ) and spiritual too. Many of those supposed hard trainings has made me a better person in life today. I pray that all of us that grew under your tender care will be beneficiaries of the Grace of God in your life till eternity.
Adieu mama rere,

Big mummy as I always call you, there are no words to describe the way I felt the moment I had of your demise, it was too hard for us to believe that you’re gone just like that, we were never ready to say goodbye even though is part of life.
Only God knows why he has taken you away this early. You’re generous, humorous and could be so blunt when necessary.
You’re are a rare gem!!! Am glad you know Christ and worked tirelessly for him and died in him(Hallelujah).
As we mourn your death, we also celebrate the life you’ve lived. Your legacy will continue to live on. GoodNight my Sister-in-law

The now resting in the bossom of the Lord Jesus Christ woman of God, Lady Evangelist Ruth Olufunmilayo Ogunyemi(Oluwayemi), was a burning light for the gospel of Christ Jesus. I came across her in the 1980s when I was the Pastor of the children church of the Foursquare Gospel Church In Nigeria, the 1, Rashidi Oyekan Street Ketu Lagos Nigeria. Visiting her children at home I met her.
Her zeal for the truth of God finally brought her out of the dark pathwy of rligion into the light of the gospel.
And unto her last three days(November 29th-December1st 2020), for the celebration of her evangelism ministry, that zeal I saw in her life for God in the late '80s was even in a greater dimension.
Yes, you were highly persecuted yet you stood for Christ firmly.
YOU SHALL BE FOREVER MISSED MY DAUGHTER IN CHRIST JESUS. THOUGH I CAN NO LONGER HEAR YOUR WORDS,' MEET MY FATHER IN THE LORD WHO COUNSELED ME TO BURN THE BRIDGE', STILL I HEAR IT IN MY SPIRIT MAN.

A thousand words will not be sufficient to say how much you mean to us, and your impact in our lives and that of those around you.

Mummy, a true prayer one- woman army! Will I find any other, who can surpass your conscious desire and effort to please the Lord?

You kept pointing to heaven, your focus was unblured, you lived truly well. So many miracles accompanied your ministration, ranging from divine healing to curing unfruitfulness and a lot more.

I was privileged to serve with you and I must confess, that I have learnt a lot from you mummy.

Your giving is second to none. We know you have gone ahead of us, we believe one day, we shall see again.

Rest on Gallant .

Mommy!!!! It was unbelievably shocking when I heard of your sudden passing. I met you through your son Titus and grew fond of you quickly knowing we are both from Ilesa, Osun State. Each time we saw each other, we embraced one another and you were always so warm and encouraging. Your wonderful training and legacy is evident in your son Titus who I am very fond of. Your work is done and although it was painful to hear of your passing, we rejoice knowing you finished well and served your God till the very end. We honor your life and legacy. May your soul Rest In Peace mama rere, Abiyamo Toto. From my family and I, we express our deepest condolences and pray the lord wraps his comforting hands around the Ogunyemi and Awe’s family in this season and always. We love you all!

Her Life
May 16, 2021
To everything there is a season, a time for every
matter under heaven; a time to be born,
and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
- Ecclesiastes 3: 1- 8

Sixty-seven years ago, precisely August 11th, 1953, our beloved mother Pastor (Mrs.) Olufunmilayo Adetola Ruth Ogunyemi (aka Iya Ijo) was born to the family of high Chief Israel Awe Ojolo of Ijesha land in Osun State and Princess Elizabeth Adejobi Awe.
She was a pupil of St. John Primary School, Oke Ibode, Osun State between 1960 and 1966. She moved to Lagos State in 1967 after the completion of her primary school education. In Lagos, she lived with one of her Aunties (Aunty Bamidele) in Aguda, Surulere where she attended a modern school. In 1971, she met Engineer Clement Feyi Ogunyemi at Yeye Obokun restaurant on Karimu Street, Surulere – they started courting, their love blossomed, and they later got married the following year.
After her first fruit, she traveled to join her husband in United State of America in 1977. While in the US, her passion to learn took control and she enrolled to study Cosmetology in College of Beauty and Culture in Queens, New York, in early 1978. She graduated a year after and gave birth to her second son while in the US. She and her husband decided to return to their native country (Nigeria) in 1980. After her return, Olufunmilayo, gave birth to her first daughter the following year and later a son (her last born). She was one of the few licensed cosmetologists in Nigeria at that time and established Ten Commandment Beauty Salon and trained many students. Five years into her passion, the beauty business grew, she opened two more locations and more students graduated.

In early 2006, Olufunmilayo relocated to live with her husband in New York, US and thereafter moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 2008 to support her husband in the Africa Market’s business. Her passion for learning got her the certification for Certified Nursing Assistance (CNA) in 2011 and she worked with Viaquest for 3 straight years.

HER CHRISTIAN LIFE

Her Christian life could easily be traced back to how her mother - Princess Elizabeth Adejobi Awe - brought her and her siblings up in the way of the Lord. She was a member of the choir in St. John Anglican Church, Oke Ibode.
In the 1980s, Pastor (Mrs.) Funmilayo Ogunyemi was the Iya Ijo (Church Matron) of The Eternal Sacred Order of The Alpha Et Omega Church Of Christ Aladurain IIasamaj, Isolo, Lagos (A Cherubim and Seraphim Church) founded by Baba Akinsola. In the early1990s, she was called into the ministry (Closed her beauty business) and her passion to learn aided her decision to enroll in bible school and theology institution: Comprehensive Institute of Christian Theology and graduated with a Diploma in Theology on December 2nd, 1995 and four (4) years thereafter, on December 11th, 1999, obtained her Bachelor in Theology in same institution. October 19th, 1996, she graduated with a Diploma in Standard Faith Clinic from the Evanpentecost Bible College. She later went to African Institute Of Church Growth and graduated with Advance Diploma in Church Growth on August 25th, 2000.
