Olufunmilola Oladipupo Amao , my darling Egbon, Olori-ebi, Lolly Pop… Your demise hit me like a thunderbolt. Words cannot describe this difficult moment, who are we to question God for calling you to glory at this time.
You were to me a very dear, one in a million brother ,an all-round pillar of support , always there when I needed you, always going above and beyond to help.
The door to your home and your heart was open anytime. You possessed the rare quality of lighting up a room just by being there. You were humble, caring, kindhearted, loving, sweet ,thoughtful, gracious inside and out, a remarkable soul. You had an altruistic personality trait, selfless, a large heart and generous to the core.
You touched so many lives by your selfless and countless acts of kindness, always giving, inconveniencing yourself to serve others with no expectation of return favors.
Our greatest strength in the family is the unity amongst us, You played a significant part in ensuring that the chords that bind us together remains strong and unbroken. You had nicknames for his siblings, Lamide- Headmaster, Bimbola- Okanlawon, Lakin – Refugee and Tayo- T-Boy/Olori-Ebi Rear.
You made it a point of duty to constantly check on us :your vibrant voice is still vivid with those words of encouragement and assurances. On your sick bed, you had a positive and upbeat demeanor….you constantly said Okanlawon. Ko si problem, all will be well.
My consolation is that you professed Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and savior before you departed. I will weep no more, for you have only gone ahead and we will be together someday in heaven
We love you but Jesus loves you more. You will be greatly missed, and your memories will forever be cherished.
While we mourn today, we also take comfort in the fact that your mission on earth have been fulfilled. We thank the Lord for your life and bid you farewell until we meet again. Sleep on my darling Egbon and rest peacefully in the bosom of Jesus Christ
Lending from the words of Jim Reeves: “This world is not our home; we are just passing through…”
You have indeed fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you kept the faith, now there is laid up for you the crown of righteousness , which the Lord, the righteous Judge will give …2 Timothy 4:7-8
You may have left us, but you will never be forgotten. Rest perfectly in peace till resurrection day.
ADIEU ….My loving brother !!!
…Bimbola Fadimu (Soleye)
